I'm unsure why he mentioned a good amount, as I am across several large spaces on the matrix using Synapse and have accumulated approximately 30GB of data in >1 year. I must clarify that I am the sole user of my instance.

Technically, they could retain posts from users if they are irreversibly anonymized. However, ensuring with 100% certainty that none of your posts ever contained any personal data that could lead to the identification of you as an individual is challenging. The safest option is therefore to also delete your posts.

He could also checkout Immich, which is much closer to Google photos UI.

You really can’t make this stuff up, it’s beyond my head how someone can make those choices. But I mean advertisers already ditched Twitter long ago, so why not squeeze the last money out of it that you can get.

Yeah, you can check it out over here: https://github.com/revoltchat/self-hosted Keep in mind tho, there is no federation going on to other instances of revolt.

The issue with this change was, that someone who was previously named Mike for instance with a discriminator, has to now choose something else for instance: "Mike372". Discord claims this is a better and a less confusing system, when it really just boils down to the same thing. Making matter worse they claimed all Mike usernames are taken, so #0001 to #9999 which also later turned out to be false, it was just their site choosing a random discriminator, which when it was already taken told you: "This username is already taken.", when in reality there were still available discriminators.

It's definitely not bad, it has some features discord is still missing. But if you looking for an alternative it's for sure the thing to check out! Also it is opensource which is quite neat! https://github.com/orgs/revoltchat/repositories

I had a similar problem when trying to sync non-steam games, then I stumbled upon syncthing. I’m hosting it on my Pi, so it would sync for me even when I’m offline, but being at a different place is an issue then.

May I ask what your host is running? I was also trying this, but running Linux with wayland is not doing great work for me. I wasn’t having issue under x11 tho.

It’s pretty much the same for me, basically only use it when I’m to lazy to sit infront of the pc or I’m simply just not at home.

I do have to admit the syncing over Steam works amazingly, I can stop playing on my pc sit on the couch and my latest save is already on there.

I have been playing a lot of BotW and DRG on it. Playing BotW on it is amazing, for DRG or mainly any shooter on it there is the problem of me not being used to aim with the gyro properly yet.
