Maybe it's possible, but we've not been seeing it work out that way. Why are you so upset about that observation?

Thanks. Yeah I figured this was a weird definition thing..

Zillow defines a starter home as one in the lowest third of home values in a given region.

To be sure, the typical starter home still costs far less than $1 million at just under $199,000, Zillow noted. Overall, the median home costs nearly $418,000, according to the National Association of Realtors.

Again I am not doubting the point, but my personal definition of starter home would be basically "the cheapest livable home with minimal standards applied". Given that I live in a metro area but have seen homes for $450-500K which are decent, reading $800K was a starter was surprising to me.

The spirit of this is absolutely correct, but where is a "starter home" $800K?

Does your comment even make sense to you..?

That looks awesome though

Than*

It's not British or American to just use the wildly-wrong word... That's just misusing words.

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world -4 points 6 hours ago

Why? It's annoyed me for so long that people always say that like automaton.

Yeah definitely a bot with years of non-bot-like history

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 3 points 20 hours ago

That's a great idea actually

You're right. History isn't complicated, uR bAD is the hard truth.

Yeah great point, got your jab in too.

Everyone seems to be saying this is super safe, but I wouldn't do this. If nothing else the batteries can leak and therefore you should put them in a container to prevent damaging anything else if that does happen. And yeah I definitely would try not to have metal tools banging around with the batteries, personally.

May not be in the exact spirit of the community, but I thought it was funny how the sign was broken.

Nothing scary about this at all.

Update: apparently already backtracked: https://abcnews.go.com/US/trump-preparing-executive-order-telling-education-secretary-dissolve/story?id=119499614

This might be the normal Trump tactic of floating horrible ideas, so don't be surprised if it comes back later.

I know that karma is a contentious issue on Lemmy, but I like having the feature where it is displayed on user profiles. For trolls especially, it helps to know if they should be ignored or not, like if they have -3000 karma for example. I have always noticed karma appearing in boost when viewing a user's profile, but today after logging out and back in, I noticed I no longer have that feature. Karma is no longer shown on profiles for me.

It doesn't seem like anyone else is having the issue and the recent changelog entries don't mention it. Did I inadvertently change a setting and now I just can't find that setting to change it back?
