NYC is cheating

I'm a performance artist, far from Hollywood, and I have an alias. It's called a stage name. It helps to keep my private and public lives separate, and it's cooler than my legal name.

Someone's decision to leave is theirs and theirs alone. I fully understand why people who have the means decide to stay, I also know firsthand how difficult it is to leave. Leaving is not an easy choice by any metric, and I'm not going to die in a repurposed Kmart so that the privileged majority can remain comfortable.

I left. No regrets, just a lot of grief. As a trans immigrant, the US does not and has never represented me.

Fun fact, I still have to pay US taxes but I can't renew my US passport. What's that about taxation without representation?

Raymour & Flannigan certainly doesn't

I'm not going to suggest a name because they're deeply personal and I don't know anything about you, but I will share a story instead.

I compare it to stargazing. Picture yourself laying on a hill on a calm night looking up at the night sky. The first thing you see is a scattering of stars, far too many to count. As you look around, you even start to notice the far away ones. But then you realize that they all shine differently. After a few minutes you start to pick out the brightest ones, about a dozen or so. Your eyes dart back and forth between them trying to connect them mentally. After doing this for a bit, you notice yourself bouncing back to the same 3 or 4 stars that seem to shine the brightest. You keep looking around trying to give each star a fair shot, but your eyes somehow always wander back to those brightest stars. Eventually, given enough time, you'll notice something peculiar about one in particular. Maybe it's the brightest, or the largest, or it has a slight tint that sets it apart. That is your star.

The stars represent countless possibilities, and the brightest one is your name. It takes time, don't rush it.

The entire downtown Toronto area is completely covered in FIFA shit, with soccer fields in front of city hall and huge FIFA photo ops everywhere. There's always a huge crowd around them. I don't get how it's still so popular

Just throw it in a flexbox with margin: auto

I saw "Premier" and my body cinched up ready for more Doug Ford or Danielle Smith bullshit. It's a welcome change.

  • Don't throw them at the enemy, it does nothing
  • Don't throw them into death traps, self explanatory
  • Don't throw them in front of a moving train

Please for the love of whatever you consider holy, throw them somewhere your friends can get to them

(Currently sitting at S+14/X~1700, why is such an issue?)

Found this in my old archives and figured it'd be appreciated here. Most satisfying wipeout by far. Maybe not satisfying for the other team though

People spend one-third of their lives asleep. What if employees could work during that time … in their dreams?

Prophetic, a venture-backed startup founded earlier this year, wants to help workers do just that. Using a headpiece the company calls the “Halo,” Prophetic says consumers can induce a lucid dream state, which occurs when the person having a dream is aware they are sleeping. The goal is to give people control over their dreams, so they can use that time productively. A CEO could practice for an upcoming board meeting, an athlete could run through plays, a web designer could create new templates—“the limiting factor is your imagination,” founder and CEO Eric Wollberg told Fortune.

I'm a performer, so I need my account for work and to book gigs. I've been locked out for almost a month due to a platform bug, and have tried and exhausted every possible avenue of support.

When a dragon looms overhead, casting its dreadful shadow upon the town, panic and chaos ensue. Peasants abandon their homes in haste, guards grasp their weapons with trembling hands, and even the most seasoned heroes of the town shiver with dread. However, the Olympian is the exception, harboring no fear within their heart. Instead, they are driven by an unwavering compulsion to confront the dragon that has dared to make its presence known.

The path of the Olympian empowers the barbarian to face creatures of myth and legend. Often misunderstood as reckless fools, drunken rabble-rousers, or lunatics courting death, Olympians view the formidable beings they challenge as stepping stones on their ascent to greatness. To these fearless individuals, common thugs are but minor nuisances, for they roam the land in relentless pursuit of titans, dragons, legendary beasts, and sometimes even gods.

This homebrew subclass is inspired by mythological heroes such as Hercules, Thor, and Beowolf, as well as games such as God of War and Shadow of the Colossus. The indomitable Olympian has no fear, and is driven by the urge to hunt down the biggest, baddest mfs out there. They possess unique abilities that enable them to track down worthy opponents, withstand their most powerful attacks, and take down titans with ease.
