They should've said "all other inhabitants" to remove the ambiguity.

Well personally I don’t care that much. Going there is probably also a lot of faff. If it took 5h to get there “door to door” maybe. I understand the people who would like to go there, though, I completely get it.

To be given the chance to visit a safe friendly alien planet inhabited by intelligent species, now that’s something I’d like to do. Probably more for the cultural experience.

You could also read it differently nowadays 15 years later with all the emissions scandal. Probably wouldn't want to trust Volkswagen with such statements huh.

In the meantime to "take advantage of Brexit" it will be possible to sell wine by the pint... A push to go back to the imperial system was axed though. Maybe brexiters should move to the US if they like the imperial system so much.

In case someone like me was wondering, I just googled it. They build dams to bring up the water level and create deep ponds. They live in structures in the middle of the pond where they are protected from predators.

And gradients/Gouraud style shading everywhere.

Would be good if they also force companies to support security updates for more that 5 years...

I don't need to change phone. I like my S10+. It does what I need. But I feel I'll have to change it soonish if I want to continue using for online banking etc.

The meme is funny (it is!) until people take it too literally.

Yes there are things in traditional English cuisine that are atrocious (from difficult times for some of them) but I believe what counts as English food is what you can find in England today.

If you want cheap then you have Indian, Chinese etc in addition to the usual fast food places. Fish and chips is good but you have to let go off your prejudices. The fish is super crispy outside and flaky inside but bland. It's meant to be eaten covered in salt with tartare sauce or your vinegar soaked chips.

True the cheap traditional food can be meh compared to Italy or France. If you want really nice English food you'll have to pay more. Gastro pubs, genuine fancy "British cuisine" restaurants are everywhere but you need to be ready to pay the price.

In addition many other countries also have soso traditional food (I think NL, DK etc according to their own citizens). But the problem obviously is that the UK are more fun to target, because the UK wants to be perceived as a superpower in other aspects as they once were. So yeah let's make fun of their food.

If a door is 2 inches thick and thickest part of your body is the length of your foot in inches, let's say 11 inches which Google tells me is a reasonable length for a man's foot, then to travel far enough into the direction of the door so that the back of your foot ends up on the other side of the door, you'd need to travel 11+2 inches.

I think it does, and it seems to work because of a defrosting feature that earlier models didn't have. But I wouldn't say it does so very clearly. Unless I missed it.

The envy of the world? I mean it was always good system in principle but most countries in Europe are doing ok I think.

Rather than algebraically. Feels like we're all converging towards explaining the joke but never quite fully get there.
