I was confused because despite the title suggesting she’s a TERF, this sounds on the face of it like a pretty trans-inclusive statement.

Which doesn’t apply to Khelif in any way that anyone has been able to prove, and which she and the IOC has denied even being tested for. This was a rumor from a disgraced Russian testing firm and spread by Russian state media after Khelif beat a Russian boxer. So why are you mentioning it here?

It’s like the ending of Silicon Valley. Maybe they’re trying to shit their pants so badly that nobody will ever try to make another device like this.

Florida also defers to the voting rights in the state where the judgment happened for convictions outside of Florida. And New York lets felons vote. Therefore, Trump can vote in Florida under Florida election law.

Imagine scraping the money together to move from Idaho to Oregon to protect your health and bodily autonomy, then 300 of your neighbors get together and decide, nope, you’re still in Idaho.

Death of the Author doesn’t really work when the author is still alive, profiting off the work, and gets to decide which new projects get an official stamp of approval. Plus, she’s absolutely delusional enough to believe that her continued royalties off the franchise justify her views and that people must secretly agree with her.

There’s enough other great works out there to put your time and effort into building an expanded world around, if that’s your thing, written by authors who are far kinder and more talented than Rowling. Might I suggest Ursula LeGuin or Terry Pratchett for some light and enjoyable fantasy?

A TV show centered around superheroes was a novel concept in 2006. In a post-Marvel vs DC world, not so much.

Scotland was literally willing to leave the UK over this. I wouldn’t be putting money on Joanne to come out on top here.

Even if they had a day (which they do, it’s the various holidays for different European cultures) they’d still complain. Like how the only time people mention International Men’s Day is when they say why don’t we have one during International Women’s Day in February. But not in June, which is when International Men’s Day actually happens.

Oh, so the engineers who thought up and built the machine must own it, right? Right?
