I felt that the media's treatment of Cobain and Winehouse both flipped the usual gender narrative, at least if what she says is true. Cobain was cared about and treated with concern while Winehouse was seen as a joke, somewhat like Gazza (British former footballer Paul Gascoigne, known for his alcohol-fuelled decline and very much left to it).
