Excellent article, excellent points - and the political power of the fossil fuels lobby appears to be waning, slowly. Still too powerful to properly hold them to account (except for occasional wins in courts around the world). Feels like they'll successfully fight it until they can hide their money away elsewhere and cry poor.
I reckon it'd be a brave manager who would try to enforce a make-up policy, especially if you're not customer-facing. I doubt it'd be an issue, I've worked with many a lady nerd who went without - and they're often the coolest peeps to work with. :)

With the talk going around of creating a dynamic Blocklist to defederate instances infested with trolls/bots it wouldn't be to hard to create another one to block instances federated with Meta. This would fix the problem you mention.

Plato's "the cave" thought experiment (circa 400 BC) is basically a suggestion of simulation. Modern science agrees - human perception of reality is limited and effectively a simulation. You don't need modern digital technology to imagine living in a simulation.
