If that's the tutorial quest I don't think I want to see the final boss.

How much weed are these guys smoking? I'm surprised they haven't "reinvented" the trebuchet at this point.

You’ve got to remember that these are just simple redditors. These are people of the land. The common clay of the interwebs. You know…

Marj's ex husband has been asking himself that same question for a long time.

Is it a coincidence or is that the same person that was attacking lemmy a few weeks back for revenge on getting booted?

Edit: yup it is.

I've always understood the saying to just mean to pay attention to all the little details.

As a mainly desktop user I agree. Nearly everything is designed/built around portrait mode nowadays, and landscape is merely a secondary concern... if at all. Understandable considering a lot of traffic is from mobile, but it can make things feel a bit clunky and fit poorly on a wide screen.

I just want to point out that if you use one of those comment deleter apps (powersuite, shreddit etc) they cannot delete comments from private subs as they are hidden. So if you tried deleting your stuff while subs are marked private those comments will not be deleted and will reappear on your profile once the sub(s) go back to normal mode. (at the time I'm writing this, there's still 3600 subs currently dark according to https://reddark.untone.uk/ so if you commented in any one of them marked private you'll have to wait for them to come back to public mode to erase them.)

Also, when they do come back they won't always show up normally in your profile. I've had to flip between hot/new/controversial a few times to see them all as they pop back up.

When you use a comment deleter app they cannot delete comments from subs marked private. (They're hidden) So if you ran a deleter app in the last week while the subs were protesting a lot of your comments wouldn't have been axed on the participating subs. Once the subs come back to normal from private mode, you'll see those comments appear even though you thought you deleted everything. I've had over 200 comments come back from as far back as 11 years ago due to that.

I'm one of the reddit refugees. To be honest I didn't think the protest would make it very far, although I was hoping it would. It looks like reddit got a black eye out of it but that's about it... nothing substantial.

That is fine by me. I was considering killing my two 10yr old+ accounts there anyway, and in the process I found this place, which I quite like to be honest. It's a little janky and rough around the edges to be sure, but any of you that remember how reddit was back in the day know it was the same thing at one point. Lemmy has serious potential to become great, lots of work needs to be done but it looks like a lot of talent is already here to fullfill that potential. Growth is great, but if things grow too fast problems do too.

I look forward to seeing the true potential of what Lemmy can become, and I hope I can be useful in some way to help that happen and be part of it.

I hope this is the right place to post this. I came across this site a few months back while looking up info on my daughters truck. Digital repair manuals for most cars and light trucks from 1982 to 2013, thanks to the fine folks at charm.li It has helped me out a lot, hopefully it'll help a few of you too.
