So I was wondering, is there a place you can make the --debug flag output to or if there was a default location besides the terminal itself?

Like the title says pacman -Syu is occasionally hard locking the computer forcing a power cycle. After restarting the computer the update will go fine after deleting the archives that are corrupted from the failed update.

It always hangs in the :: Running post-transaction hooks... part of the update. This time it hung specifically on the ( 3/19) Reloading system manager configuration...

I have tried to redirect the debug output like: pacman -Syu --debug >> ~/Desktop/pacdebug.txt but it seems that I only get the standard upgrade output.

Is there some other tool or steps I can use to investigate this?

This has been happening since I upgraded to KDE 6 but I don't think it's directly related to KDE it's just when it started.

Thanks!

~~Update for future peoples:~~

~~At this point I'm relatively sure that I had broken my kernel. I switched to a different kernel and the pacman freezing has stopped. Still testing but so far I'm pretty confident that was the issue as it has been several days without issue.~~

~~To future peoples that might be having a similar issue try a different kernel and if the issue is resolved, remove the broken kernel + kernel headers and reinstall it.~~

I remember reading something many years ago about a way for parents and their children to be reunited when separated in a crowd.

When the kid asks for help the adult would hoist the kid on their shoulders and start singing a song or something to that effect. Other adults would join in to help in the singing which would help put a spotlight on what's going on and would continue this till the kid and parent would be reunited.

If I remember correctly it was somewhere in the Islamic world that this was practiced. I remember thinking that this was a great way to get family's back together.

He and Thatcher were instrumental in bringing neoliberalism into mainstream politics. Neoliberalism differs from classical liberalism in that its about freeing capital and not people. This directly led to all the problems we face today with a government that used to be by and for the people but now the only people the government serves are the corporations we gave out rights to.

The DOW is a misery index. A measure of how much wealth can be extracted from the working class and reappropriated to the wealthy.

I've always thought that duplicate's should be somehow grouped together in some way and not outright closed unless it truly is a true duplicate without that nuances. If questions that are similar can generate differing quality answers it would be beneficial. Then linked together as a group.

When I see people getting down voted for expressing a difference of opinion in various communities, I upvote them even if I don't share that opinion as long as their not being an ass. I think differing points of views are healthy, valuable and worth taking the time to make this place feel more accepting of our difference's. I guess I don't want Lemmy be a reddit clone.

We have lost control of our governance completely long ago. We let corporations become people while we became a product.

We have to stop thinking about news media as being the fourth estate and realize that it is a business. Their business is reliant on the status quo, in not rocking the boat. With advertisers like weapon manufacturers: Raytheon, Northrop Grumman: oil companies Exxon, etc and big pharma. They have a clear profit motive to not do journalism and to run whitewashing propaganda campaigns as their business model.

Some news orgs lie outright and others through omission. Either way they have a clear bias and an interest in guiding a narrative.

Its not about being cowardly or timid. Its about profit. The serve the same monied interests that buy our politician's.
