Oh it's that time of the year again, where they start talking about governmental ID cards for the 57th time.

“That doesn’t happen on android!”
It will absolutely happen with Apple, because there’s so much money that will be up for grabs.
Yeah sure because there are no expensive Android phones.
I just love the fact that he had to open three gates in order to get to my garden. But couldn't be bothered to check the address.
Amazon sent my next door neighbour a photograph of my back garden indicating they delivered the package. In the photo you can see my door with the obviously wrong house number.
That is a weird question.
How do you calculate odds of dying by suicide anyway, wouldn't they be personal?
That's because it has to accommodate wide arses. If you ever sit in one of their seats you just sort of get lost.
Buses are wider than cars.
Just look at this picture they're clearly much wider.
Clearly it's your fault for both breaking and going around a corner at the same time. Who does that?
How about less reliance on cars in the first place?
Americans seem to think of buses as some sort of commie plot.
Sometimes you see those videos from a dash cam of a truck that hits a bridge, obviously the truck driver was been being inattentive but often so was the recording cars driver. All I can ever think is, "why were you so close behind, it was blindingly obvious that was about to happen", yet to them apparently it wasn't, and now they've got bits of truck roof in their windscreen.
There was an astounding number of people who really cannot drive, and yet they think they're driving safely. They just haven't gotten a crash yet.
The list where this doesn't apply seems to basically be every country with consumer protection laws.
They obviously know this won't fly pretty much anywhere other than the US so that's all they're trying to push.
That's the problem with the ID card idea, it doesn't solve a problem. Obviously it proves who you are, but there are so many other documents that are already needed that also do that there's no point.
If we got rid of driving licences and just had an ID card that everyone had, and then when you got a licence it just got added as information onto the card, then they would have a point. But that isn't what they're proposing, they're proposing a second card that does the exact same job as the driving licence that I'm already required to carry.
