Among other things:

  • monochrome color scheme prevents easy recognition of tools
  • dozens and dozens of arcane options listed alongside super basic options
  • weird sizing of buttons
  • no help search, and no search that can associate synonyms where users don't know what term to search for
  • no inbuilt suggestions when user behaves strangely (eg. user is spamming the escape key, searching "deselect", maybe suggest the deselect all hotkey?)

Totally, everyone who continued to a PhD in my area was batshit insane. Entirely fuckin deranged but diligent enough to write thousands of words of cogent garbage that no one could be bothered contesting.

Isn't there some stat that PhD students have 3x the mental health issues than undergrads? Which nowadays is like 100% lol

This probably isn't the case for you but for some people being forced to leave the house and socialise is essential for their wellbeing. They may hate it, and may not even realize it, but going somewhere they dread is often better for them than wasting away at home.

No one starts shit around a kebab guy tho. They have seen it all and if you start a fight they will finish it for you.

Could be a compliment. Smart people know better than to boast about being intellectual to strangers, and his response indicated he was smart enough not to.

Entire forests are being razed and no one bats an eye. People want to free up space on their property and likely plant another tree elsewhere and everyone loses their minds.

It's fine, ask away. It's important people think through long term implications so I'm happy to answer.

Such babies stand very low chances of living healthy normal lives. In my sibling's case they didn't live a happy or comfortable life, they precldued my other siblings and I from valuable childhood experiences, strained my parents' marriage, and were a huge burden on taxpayers and society. There were some good moments but truthfully they never brought anyone any real happiness and no one ever honestly wanted them to be around.

It's natural to want to cling on to those you love hoping the best for them, especially for mothers. My strong opinion is all things considered the kindest thing for everyone's long term wellbeing is to be strong and let them go.

Dude I hate them more than anyone but I'm working in a jurisdiction where the legal term has been changed to "rent provider" and it's a total fucking shitshow. A name is what you make it.

Doctors gave my parents a choice to let my neonatal sibling die naturally. I grew up with them, loved them, and never wanted anything but the best life for them and my family.

If a doctor gives you a choice you should take it. It isn't a happy life for them, the people they should care about, or broader society.

IIRC paying for streaming services rarely supports creatives beyond a fraction of a cent per play tho
