I have a Yubi key that crashes Authenticator when I select the option to it l use it. It goes into a loop asking to touch the button and type the PIN. But it does not wait for input, it just keeps creating windows until it crashes.

And the worse are the ones that completed Ironman.

By the way, any others that have done Ironman before?

My company used to give a watch upon reaching 10 years of service. I was the last one to receive it; they changed the policy to 5 days of annual leave, usable in the same year.

It's been a silent but relentless battle! The following picture was the new state until a few weeks ago.

A 3rd desire path opened by the tree, in the photo you can almost see someone pushing a bike across.

This has however changed, I'll post an update.

I use Ansible. Just have to be careful with the playbooks, so you won't end up with a bricked system.

I run the playbooks once a week from one of the systems and takes care of them. In my case quite a number of them are always online (raspberry pi), so that's convenient.

That has worked pretty well.

Should be part of the Arch Wiki 🤣

And this is something I particularly hate when MS tries to push some new UI change that nobody asked for. Outlook and Teams new UI for example:

MS: do you want the new UI?

Me: No

MS: I'll just add a new App with the same name to increase the chances of you accidentally opening the new UI. By the way, I'll make it difficult for you to switch back to the old UI.

And that's how I end up with 2 Outlook and 2 Teams.

On the positive side, that's just the work laptop because all my personal devices run on Arch.

It's not just a desire path but also a shortcut that saves you 7km. They are trying to block it but it's coming back on the side.

Edit 1: Update, how it was going...

Edit 2: How it's going now... They blocked the previous path and guess what? There is now another desire path, under the tree.

Update 2025-05-29: They are installing a wired fence. Going lengths to make people's life more difficult!

Someone knocked off the pole that was on this section, the one in the photo is a replacement. Someone also bent the same section of the fence.

I've encountered a significant issue with my DNS resolution due to what appears to be a mandated DNS redirection implemented by my ISP. Despite configuring Quad9 as my upstream DNS server, queries were not reaching the intended endpoints. This behavior persisted even after verifying the correct IP addresses.

While I understand the potential rationale behind such a policy, the lack of transparency and communication from my ISP is deeply concerning. The claim that this redirection will enhance security is questionable, as it could inadvertently introduce vulnerabilities or compromise privacy. Furthermore, it raises red flags about potential government censorship efforts.

To mitigate these risks, I strongly recommend employing DNS over TLS (DoT) or DNS over HTTPS (DoH) protocols. These methods can help bypass the redirection and ensure your DNS queries remain private. If these options are not feasible, consider using a VPN service, such as Cloudflare's Warp.

Maxis, sent last month an SMS saying they will block SMSs with URLs and then, after the block has taken effect, they are sending me an SMS with URL which doesn't get blocked because it is conveniently theirs.

They'd be doing me a favor if they blocked those too!
