I was told, to my face by management, that my peace was to be valued. Everyone's peace was to be valued.

Maybe someone doesn't want to wear their headsets all of the time in a place they pay a lot of money for. You're making it sound like there is no control for anything and just let it be. But someone probably hasn't told you that, if it can be helped, it should be helped.

[–] fyrilsol@kbin.melroy.org 6 points 12 hours ago

Yeah, same too.

I hate the fuck out of advertising and marketing. There's no way I'd last even an hour, having someone tell me to go out and get people to buy products. Products and services that might not have been very well worth the money, but it has to be someone's job to convince another to buy it anyways. You become the very thing you absolutely loathe.

Trump is just accelerating it.

Truck Driving for me. It'll feel cool for probably a half-hour for me, to be driving something big. Until my worry of having to meet things in timely manners start kicking in and my anxiety to make sure information going all directions are right enough for easy deliveries.

Not to mention, how stupid easy it probably is for a eighteen wheeler truck to topple over in bad weather.

RUBs - This is a bullshit system to be added to your rent with. This is basically saying "on top of what you're paying to use, you're to pay what EVERYONE else in the building uses!" even if it's divided up. I get fucked over every winter for example, because I use electric heaters in my apartment and nothing gas-related. I'm still smacked with $48 ~ $62 of usage, despite that. This raises my rent up and makes it variable.

No-Bite Management - Management who lets nearly everything go, despite them trying to sound strict. You may be in a bit of a rivalry with a neighbor who likes slamming things or having loud music, obviously breaking lease agreement, who makes you wonder why they've gotten away with it as long as they have. You record, you report but management does next to nothing. They tell you to your face that the only way they can move forward, is a police report. Now that kind of thing should be reserved for more escalated and involved cases, not something management could deal with when they were the ones who made up the terms of the lease agreement.

Pets - From experience, people are AWFUL with their pets. Mostly dogs, I've never seen anything go wrong with cats, unless the owners don't care enough to let them run around until they're kidnapped or ran over. But dogs, they just let them go and go with the barking. Not to mention the dog shit on the ground they refuse to pick up.

Ahhh, that's the catch. Now I don't want one.

I'm fine on DDR4. DDR5 feels to me, something I'll get into in like 5 - 10 years from now. This is from someone who has sat on DDR2 and DDR3 machines for extended periods of time. If they're still doing the job I want them to, no complaints.

They've already voted to pass funding for military, which was huge. They've already voted to fund ICE.

They're going to fund this. Democrats have failed.

Yeah but they backed away from a Terraria 2.

Lets be honest, the US does a shit job actually bringing justice to pedos anyways. Short of them actually raping kids and/or including up to murdering them straight after the raping, does the justice system finally step in.

Pedophiles are slimy fucking creatures. I've came across a couple online and I'm not exaggerating when I say i've spent 8 freaking years, I and a few other people, just trying to get something done about them as they hounded young teenagers. Yet, they got away and are able to live comfortably getting into what sick perverted fantasies they have in mind out there. One of them even faked their name for a long time when we thought it was their real name, that's how slimy these assholes can get.

It doesn't shock me that King Pedo of Pedophiles, is slashing funding.

Democrats just come in wagging their finger all like "Now now now, you know that was a bad bad thing to do, Republicans. We're going to pussy-foot around the law and not make as radical of a change as you did. We're going to stagnate and follow the law, taking our time to clean up your mess you bad little boy" in a very motherly tone.

This was how you lost 2016. This was how you lost 2024.

This is how you're going to lose 2026 and probably 2028.

You fucking morons.

My SIRIUSXM subscription expired 3 days ago and I used that app to listen to comedy clips like from Bill Burr, Louis CK and others. It was a way for me on both my way to work and back from work, to relax and decompress some.

However, I'm not interested in going back to Sirius, at least not for a while. I get many e-mails from them to take advantage of a $5 for 1 year deals and that's going to wait. What I'd like to know, is if there's any app or station I can download, that has comedy stations and would work on Android Auto.

Because I've tried a couple times to download comedy stations I'd think would work through Android Auto, but their icons don't show up even when the app is loaded up.

Any ideas?

His dumbfuck son will try for office.

Whether you were born through it or learned about it.

Mine is the 2000s.

It was a very mean-spirited decade with very crude forms of weirdness thrown in between.

  • It birthed communities like 4chan, SomethingAwful and Reddit. Where, these communities harbored some of the most degenerative behavior and content the internet has seen. They all predate later communities such as KiwiFarms, where it was seen acceptable to post racial, xenophobic, misogynistic content as well as turn select people's lives upside down with constant scrutiny and mockery mixed.

  • Porn and Gore content were running wild and unchecked. Porn became increasingly rampant as there were lack of censorship and places like Rotten.com existed.

  • Shock Jock personalities like Howard Stern and Tom Leykis were on the radio. These two are examples whose careers earned them lots of money exploiting social vulnerabilities and putting them on the spotlight to point and laugh at. Tom Leykis' entire show, revolved around edging against misogynistic tendencies, that prided in seeing women as nothing more than sex objects. Even going as far as to encourage men to see them as nothing more than sex objects.

  • 9/11 happens and we all know the repercussions of that event. The government's response became incredibly fumbled, initiating a blanket war on the idea of Terror. This would sink the country into an eventual recession, it would see laws being passed that gave the government leverages like to spy and track on all citizens. It would also increase the national debt into irrecoverable levels that still remain today.

  • Hollywood began their mark on remaking films by decade, starting with the 60s and 70s with movies like Starsky and Hutch, Dukes of Hazzard, The Honeymooners and more. It would be a trend we'd see since as the decades get higher. Despite some critically successful films, Hollywood also churned out numerously awful films although they would see some net positives in the box office that encouraged them to continue.

  • The emo wave of the 2000s came twice, both early and in the middle of the 2000s. It was seen as the cool thing to dress up in all black, listen to bands like My Chemical Romance and portray themselves as depressed, suicidal individuals. The concern here is the fact that pretending to be suicidal sparked a controversial debate with mental health. Where it was harder for actual sufferers to get the attention and treatment they needed because they feared that they would be seen as fakers because of these scene movements.

  • Tabloid culture took hold of media and media giants such as FOX were manufacturing so many stories around for views and to push political agendas. This all would predate and fuel the current problems we're facing in regards to misinformation going wild today.

Example: O.J Simpson

He was a symbol of where the 90s were and how big his court case was at the time. Not that he should garner sympathy because we all know he did it and he only got off on technicality as well as theater performed by his council. But we all know where we were when that was all happening.

I'm getting quite strained from the sentiment I'm gathering from people who possess a level of cynicism to where, they believe all Americans deserve what's happening and been happening. I don't agree with that.

There are 75 million Americans, who tried, really tried to get out there and prevent what was to come. We just didn't expect to be outnumbered by two million more people. But I think it's unfair to say that those 75 million americans who tried to prevent the floodgates from opening, deserve this. Because they don't.

There are other countries out in the world right now, who have just as bad leadership if not worse. Should we just assume the people there deserve it? No. Because there are probably people who are likely against their corrupt leaders. America is no different in that field.

We will try again come mid-terms, provided there are mid-terms. Hopefully the 77 million americans who did in fact vote for trump, have gotten enough of a wake-up call, that maybe their poor judgment and poorer decision making wasn't as good as they thought. Because it is they that have damned us to this mess and we know it, we've seen it.

But don't get this idea in your head that every American endorse the idea that we like what we have.

Mine is work and life balance. At least in this stage of my life, I prefer work and life balance. That's why I've accepted a lenient schedule, I leave early when it's acceptable to, I know that my hard work ultimately is accounting for nothing except to make people who're not me richer than I'll ever be.

So it's like I don't even see the point in working hard when I know a lot of the time, things will continue to be more or less the same, day in and day out. My position could change if I had a different life and in a different field of work where it would matter. But as it is, I prefer being home more and doing things at my leisure. Especially when I don't have the commitment of children and currently, a relationship although being in one would kind of be nice though I don't think there's anyone out there who'd accept someone into this lifestyle.

But being at home more opens doors for me to pursue anything I want and indulge hobbies whereas if I was continuously doing hard work all of the time, I won't have even an hour towards them as it would've been spent sleeping it away.

What about you?

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Dr. Gladys West, the pioneering mathematician whose work laid the foundation for modern GPS technology, has died. She passed away

Either one or both works.

Mine is completing the Pokedex in the original Pokemon games. All you get is just Professor Oak giving you a wink and a small few second cut scene. And a congratulations text. Imagine spending all of your time then, getting all 151 and even 252 pokemon just for that? Yeah no thanks, I never completed the pokedex.

Going the Joja-Route in Stardew Valley. I say this mainly because, it is what you make of it. You forfeit being able to complete the Community Center by earning things, when you sign your soul away to Joja. What I would've liked is seeing Pierre go out of business completely. I just think that would add a route of depth in the game where you have to make ends meet through Joja because Pierre is permanently closed.

But, that doesn't happen, he'll still be in business despite his depression about Joja running things. Kindof ruins the whole concept of doing it for the achievements even.

I think the answer is - because they're lazy and want you to do their dirty work for them. I quite frankly, am not going to call the police over noise complaints because I think management should do something about that. Police should only be called when violence or tenants who get aggressive.

Not because of noise, I just think it's management dumping responsibility onto you when they're the ones with the power to evict people.
