Someone should create safe injection sites and call them "jails" and then I bet right wingers would be all over letting addicts go to jails for "short term incarceration".

Better yet, create ultra low security "prisons" that allow "prisoners" to have "unescorted temporary absences" but really they're just free homes for the unhoused and they can sign in and out as they please.

I think that's the language those people prefer.

Interesting, in Canada the only backlash I really heard (and from my own mother) was that it was too new and we weren't sure of the longer term effects. I got it anyway since it was being offered for free to people my age (I remember jokes about being guinea pigs). I don't have HPV and the vaccine doesn't seem to have killed me yet so win-win I guess.

Something I've learned to practice with friends. When people call me I try to make sure I ask "do you want advice or do you just want someone to listen?"

• we're all working too much to have the free time for it
• there are (effectively) no third places where you can hang out with the expectation to meet people without the expectation of spending money
• to get anywhere you generally need a car, highways and roads divide and spread everything which makes walking or biking difficult
• social media is run for profit, not for the sake of actually connecting people
• these above issues feed into the issue OP is pointing out. If you are lonely and your life isn't going too well, then you're gonna seek answers for this complicated issue. And fascists are all too willing to take advantage and provide simple answers. It then turns into a self feeding cycle.

Edit: after a quick search it appears to me that Lewis market offers hot meals, and in many grocery stores you can find chicken strips in their hot meal section. My assumption is that the barcode 'dinner' is just a generic code for any of their hot food items.

Ngl, if any of the AI tools we have now used clippy as a mascot I would probably be 35% more likely to use them. At least clippy doesn't have a dumb fucking name like GROK.
