Finally, a different map

The only thing you should realistic understand from the naming conventions is relative generations and which bracket of price/performance the part targets. Assuming more than that is just a mistake.

I assume you haven't seen the latest series of processors from Intel...

[-] lorty@lemmy.ml 1 points 4 hours ago

They know people like you are the majority, that's why, specially when it comes to low-end hardware, they up the price while selling you the same or worse performance just because the part is newer.

Just go here and check the charts for the kind of work you want the PC to do. If one looks promising you can check specific reviews on YouTube.

For gaming the absolute best cpu/gpu combo currently is the 9800x3d and a rtx 4090, if you don't have a budget.

Yes the part naming is confusing but it's intentional.

They fudge their criteria to make intel look good and AMD bad. Do not use this.

Cultist Simulator is most fun when you really know nothing about the game and you stumble into things.

I didn't watch it as closely as I'd like but it was very well produced compared to previous years. Also having top teams streaming was a huge boon.

Poorly received games with tons of other venues of monetization outside the box price.

Good example. I also feel like vegetarianism is probably correct, but I still haven't gone that way.

I thought about it a bit when making this post and I felt like not giving an example would make people come with crazy political opinions which would probably be a bad time. Maybe it still wasn't the best approach, admittedly.

Maybe you haven't been convinced by a good enough argument. Maybe you just don't want to admit you are wrong. Or maybe the chaos is the objective, but what are you knowingly on the wrong side of?

In my case: I don't think any games are obliged to offer an easy mode. If developers want to tailor a specific experience, they don't have to dilute it with easier or harder modes that aren't actually interesting and/or anything more than poorly done numbers adjustments. BUT I also know that for the people that need and want them, it helps a LOT. But I can't really accept making the game worse so that some people get to play it. They wouldn't actually be playing the same game after all...

Summoner class going to eat good. Guess I'll do another playthrough of terraria.

Weird that they decided to leave the fix for 7.1, but at least it's acknowledged now.

Can't seem to find a definite answer for this...

I did it. For a few years now I've wanted to make the jump but lazyness and a bit of worry that my main game wouldn't work very well kept me from it.

Then some effing windows update caused ridiculous stuttering on games (or maybe it was a auto-update of some other hidden thing, I couldn't figure it out) so I decided that if I needed a system wipe, might as well as try gaming on linux.

Honestly? Much easier than I expected. Install Steam, turn two options on and 90% of your library is ready to go. I had to tinker with getting freesync to work (ended up just switching to wayland, which just worked) but other than the plugins I use for my main game requiring a bit of more work, smooth as butter really.

So yeah, if you are a lazy gamer like I am, next time you do a system wipe or get a new computer, try installing linux first. Don't even bother Dual booting it, if you don't like it just reinstall (setup your usb drive with ventoy and the images you want to try out.)

Did people think we'd go to a whole new continent and not have any worldbuilding? Or did they want another high-stakes world ending threat for a high-adrenaline story?

I just want to build requests and read the responses, why the hell does everyone suddenly want me to make an account?
