Algorithmically curated timelines are designed to be addictive. Fediverse doesn't have that, it's time based, like it used to be before.

Do we think traffic data will ever be available for a project like this one? Or maybe it already is and I just don't know.

What bluemaga? you're either astroturfing or completely naive.

The poster reveals himself when he adds Hilary whose problematic actions were over 10 years ago but ignores Donald. The astroturfing is real

Over 25 years ago, during the dial-up era, there were many computers compromised with certain worms that would open up your computer for remote connections. One of the possibilities when connected was to download the system saved passwords including those for the dial up software. I had many, many, such logins saved including corporate and education ones, with no time caps. During about a year I would only pay for the phone call, not for the internet service. Simpler times.

A private company shows up that gets federal funding while the space agency gets funding consistently cut while having to support multiple, multi-year, billion dollar projects.

A private company whose survival is 100% reliant on government money.

Capitalists on Lemmy: private company is better just because it's private

One time at one very busy Airport in the center of Europe, all flights cancelled due to snow, everyone queuing for miles to get accommodation and new flights. As soon as 11pm struck, people attending stopped working, hundreds of people still queuing. They just said, sleep at the airport, tomorrow we'll open again.

It was full on progressive in social issues. Anonymous was progressive (it still is) socially and politically. 4chan shifted with Gamergate and it escalated from there.

Recently I have had an issue that whenever I connected an external monitor to my laptop it would just freeze. This is on an Asus laptop with nvidia graphics.

The only way I managed to solve it was by following this solution https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/windows-10-reset-external-monitors-settings/b3a53cef-e54f-4410-b09e-6846fa297a3f

The solution was essentially deleting these reg folders

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers\Configuration
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers\Connectivity
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers\ScaleFactors

With this, all configuration is deleted and when you connect a monitor you may need to reconfigure if it's extended, duplicated, etc.

Hope this is helpful to others.

Nothing more to add, ptp is back up after about 2 months offline.
