Etsy is a shell of what it once was. If there ever was a need for a decentralized coalition, it is here. I want to find and buy handmade creations. Artists want to sell handmade creations. Yet etsy makes me wade through pages and pages of the same mass produced crap that you can find on amazon and ebay, but ten times more expensive because they claim it’s “handmade” “from the U.S.” And report all you want etsy doesn’t do shit because that’s where they get their money.
It only affects devices running iOS 15.7, which was several updates ago (latest update is 16.5.1) so most iphone users are safe.
As the official Fediverse Overlord I say yes whatever that’s fine do what you want.
The existence of people who detransition is often brought up in anti-trans circles as a criticism of gender-affirming care. However, the actual number of trans people who even just regret getting medical treatments is like 0.5%. Versus something like 14% for medical surgeries in general. And this is including trans people who regret it for social or economic reasons.
And not just a regular amicable breakup but one where you left after finding out the other person was actually a cold-hearted narcissist who only pretended to care about you and now they’re lying to everyone about how you were the horrible one. So it’s understandable to feel some schadenfreude for awhile.
As a temporary bandaid, it looks like every instance needs a sacrificial user/volunteer to subscribe to every community they can find.

I love stories like these. It says the hobbyist took the initiative to call a computer scientist about this shape he found, which means not only did he discover it but also recognized its uniqueness. It just makes me wonder how often something like this happens where a random person doesn’t recognize the uniqueness of what they’ve found and everyone just goes on their merry way.
That is fucking insane and gorgeous and looks super fun to play. I just went to an outdoor market where there was a youth marimba band and I was blown away at the African (Nigerian?)-inspired music they were playing.

Ok this is embarrassing but as an old person, how does one get ringtones on an iphone when I only use streaming music services so can’t use an itunes library?
