I don't get why people get upset at frequently expiring passwords. It's not hard: just write it on a postit note and stick it on your monitor.

I flew from Jermany to Tanzania and saw some jeriatric jiraffes.

I say it "Jif" because:

  • That's what the format's creator named it.
  • It's weird, but "soft G" is a thing and acronyms and the only "rule" for pronouncing acronyms is "it's easy to say".
  • It annoys people that are way too invested in it. Sure, it's immature -- but it's low stakes and not particularly "shitty". I enjoy it and you only YOLO once.

I get the impression this directive is more about sending a message.

Edit: I learned something new.

A pardon doesn't remove a conviction and discriminating against someone convicted of a crime isn't federally illegal, as that isn't a protected class. I'm not sure how this works with Illinois law given we have Conviction Record Protection. I do know state law specifically forbids hiring people with specific convictions (particularly violent ones) for certain jobs -- e.g. Police, fire, etc. And IDPH will absolutely pull your licenses for something as "minor" as not paying child support.

In that position you're far more protected from retaliation than a "regular person" -- it's easier to prove with an established history and courts really don't like have their judgments undermined. You've also shown your employer trying to screw with you is expensive.

Go back and do your job to the letter. They're either going to be very wary of pissing you off, or they're going to do something stupid and you'll get another payout.

Connect the TV to wifi, then go into your router's settings and block it. It's usually under "Access Control" or "Security".

Projectors come with their own set of issues, but at least you can still get a really good one without all the "smart" features.

A set of torx screwdrivers and an exacto knife will take care of that. Pretty hard for a cellular modem to transmit data when the traces to the antenna are cut.

Netbooks need to come back with modern hardware.

If I need an ultra-portable computer one in a usable form factor would be amazing.
