I'm disheartened. As a Jordanian/Palestinian/American, it's hard to live in a country where the government and the general populace openly and unabashedly wants you and your whole family to die. Seeing people justify the atrocities committed by the Israeli government and military is just disappointing more than anything.

I really do love America, and I don't take for granted how lucky my family has been to even have the opportunity to migrate here (I know plenty of people who would do anything to live here!) But it hurts when America doesn't love you back.

It is disappointing how unconcerned the Lemmy devs are with the lack of mod tools on this platform. Honestly if Beehaw decides to move away from Lemmy, I'll probably follow and stop using Lemmy altogether. Beehaw's all that's really keeping me here.

I guess I'm a little confused, is it fully separate or is it part of lemmy.world's hardware? If the server were to go down wouldn't it also affect the new instance? And what additional steps would be taken to make it more secure than lemmy.world?

I use YouTube all the time and was legitimately thinking of subscribing to premium. Guess I'm sticking to ReVanced lol

Incredible performance! Who in the world needs 3 drum sets??? It's bonkers! It's downright ludicrous! I love it!

Super interesting video on the psychology of hype. I recommend the channel's other videos too, they're all very reflective and well written!

I just listened to the whaler by Home Is Where (great album btw!) and the song whaling for sport has a solid buildup that I really enjoyed! What other songs does everyone enjoy that have similar buildups?

Serj Tankian has been all over the place! Since System of a Down disbanded (essentially), he's done a couple rock albums, a classical album, a jazz album, has written a few movie scores, even featured in a Tech N9ne song. He's done it all relatively well too! Guy's super impressive and a big inspiration to me musically.

Kinda dumb but some of the "obscure humor" (for a lack of a better term) subreddits I kinda miss, like r/comedyheaven, r/skamteboard, r/oldpeoplefacebook, etc. The meme communities I've found on the fediverse, while totally fine, don't really scratch the same itch for me lol.

I still can't make it through any of The Witcher games. Smooth and satisfying gameplay is super important for me to enjoy a game, and The Witcher has always felt slow, clunky, unintuitive, and super menu-heavy. I'm sure the story is great! But I just can't get past its gameplay.

This might sound weird but Dark Souls 1 does give me a certain level of comfort, not sure what that says about me lol. I haven't played it in a while but back then, creating new builds and trying out new weapons was really fun, and I got very accustomed to the game's mechanics and it's general progression and pathing. I could run through the whole game without even thinking about it. I'll still go back to it every now and again and it still gives me that comfortable nostalgic feeling.
