For me it was sitting in traffic watching people on their bikes around me in Toronto. I had biked everywhere as a kid and for me too it was the best way to get around in university, but as an adult I got caught in the rat-race car-commute grind. I'd be driving to get downtown and right near me would be people on their bikes in the summer. At stop lights or whatever I found myself staring at them wishing I was on a bike, remembering how free it felt when I was younger. Took me a few weeks to muster up the courage, and once I did I couldn't believe it took me that long. :). Wouldn't have it any other way now!

There are a few books and series that I go back to every couple of years - they’re my old dependables when I want to sink into a story that I know I’ll enjoy.

So here I was checking to see if the Blue Jays Lemmy was being updated, and when I went there it says "No posts". I checked from Lemmy.world and the posts show up fine (ie https://lemmy.world/c/torontobluejays@lemmy.ca). I checked my languages (made sure undetermined it selected) so I'm stumped - any ideas?

I used to. I'm also a music nerd and when I started commuting, I'd wear my headphones with the volume low to offset the stress of traffic and stuff and just make the journey more enjoyable. But after a few years, I enjoy the sounds of the city and nature around me now.
