I forgot about this guy for so many years. I listened to some of his content over a decade ago when I was first getting into linux, but stopped long before I heard he started taking a libertarian/CHUD turn.
I think it really just comes down to a form of misogyny that women are sex objects and nothing else. Therefore, all companionship and friendship should be found with other men.

I love how liberals did such a 180 on immigration once Biden was the figurehead overseeing it, instead of Trump "What? It's not 2018, we are not pretending to care about asylum seekers anymore." or "What, no the border wall was fascist when Trump was building it, now that Biden is building it, it is good and liberal. We need to keep our borders safe. We are not loony leftists that just want open borders and anarchy."
This "Lesser Evilsm^tm^" has always been the main Democrat appeal. But it has been amazing once Trump became the Republican nominee in 2016, how thoroughly the Democrats embrace the belief "we are the party without Trump, how dare you ask for, or have any standards, other than that"

Definitely real, I was going to suggest something along these lines. The DM of my DND group is a big theater person, and through him I have gotten pulled into more activities requiring acting out a role in public. That has definitely gotten me more comfortable acting out or drawing attention to myself in public.
