Elections are always about the best choice from the options available. NDP were always going to get crushed, so this was the best possible outcome.

People need to stop seeing voting as an agreement with or support for everything a candidate does.

Rational national is like fox news clickbait but for NDP voters

Gun violence in Canada is near exclusively committed with illegal firearms brought up from the states. The limits on long guns for people with PALs does nothing to curb the violence.

Also, lots of specific model gun prohibitions are literally based on how scary a gun looks and not anything to do with things like barrel length or caliber. The FN FAL was recently prohibited because you can fix a bayonet, like all those pesky criminals are doing these days...

The Houthis agreed to stop attacking merchant ships, which was the whole reason they were being bombed in the first place. If they start again they can probably expect the air strikes to resume.

Your English is great! Not perfect, but good enough to get the idea across, which is what matters in language. Don't apologise for that :)

I know this is hard and scary in the moment, but it's not like you can control anything about their reaction. Older people tend to be a bit more set in their ideas, but if your grandparents really love you they should love you for who you are.

If they can't see that, then that's no big problem for you. The only thing worse than a negative relationship is maintaining a positive one by hiding your true self. If they choose to be nasty and mean, you can try to have a calm conversation with them to show that you're still the same person they've always known. The most important part is time, don't give up on them if it feels hopeless and don't listen to anyone who tells you to cut off contact completely after the first bad interaction.

How old are you turning? Approximately of course

Surprisingly high quality for an image of this vintage

Why are you already committed to buying a used Tesla, years before your current one dies? Why make this comment at all?

Any aircraft that can't glide or autorotate is an aircraft I don't ever want to step into

This has got to be the widest desire path I've ever seen, but I'm excited to know if anyone has seen bigger. To my knowledge it's been here for at least 15 years.

Lemmings of Canada,

I just found out about the fediverse canvas event.

I have to assume that a Canadian flag with a horribly mangled maple leaf will show up somewhere, but I'm not sure if anyone has decided on a spot yet. ~~There's a large red box growing on the right side of the canvas that we could try to take over but that might be a little ambitious.~~

Just realized that red box is for us! Let's go Canada, I believe in our ability to draw a maple leaf.
