Wie schon in vielen anderen Kommentaren geschrieben, finde ich diese Statistiken ohne genauere Informationen zur Methodik ziemlich sinnlos. Meiner Meinung nach müsste man die Basis nach gefahrenen Kilometern normieren.

Wenn von 10.000 Kilometern mit Ladung, die gesichert werden muss, nur 1.000 von Frauen gefahren werden, dann wäre die Statistik ja auch schon 90 zu 10% ohne dass Männer wirklich schlechtere Autofahrer wären.

Ich glaube direkt, DASS Männer im Durchschnitt aggressiver und leichtsinniger unterwegs sind. Die Erhebung würde für mich nur einen Mehrwert bieten, wenn sie das DASS quantifizierbar machte. WIE VIEL aggressiver und leichtsinniger fahren Männer im Durchschnitt. Und das ist leider nicht gegeben.

Man stelle sich nur vor, was möglich wäre, wenn wir weiter das Neun-Euro-Ticket oder gar kostenlosen Nahverkehr hätten.

Fast alle meine Bekannte fahren (auch) Auto, inklusive mir. Zu Zeiten des Neun-Euro-Tickets haben trotzdem die meisten zusätzlich das ÖPNV-Ticket gekauft und zumindest teilweise genutzt. Zumindest für die Fahrten, wo der ÖPNV keine großen Umstände macht, waren viele bereit, den auch zu nutzen. In den Supermarkt für den Wocheneinkauf ist man dann trotzdem mit der Karre aber ins Kino, zum Zahnarzt oder ähnlichem hat man sich eben in den Bus gesetzt. Selbst wenn das nur ein Drittel aller Fahrten wäre, wäre das doch schon ein super Fortschritt. Und wenn die Busse dann voller wären, muss man es eben weiter ausbauen. Wenn neue Linien kommen, kann man dann noch mehr Strecken damit abdecken usw.

Bei 50€ im Monat lohnt es sich für hybride Nutzer kaum. Wertverlust des Autos, Versicherung, Kfz-Steuer und so weiter fällt alles sowieso an. Und der reine Kraftstoff ist leider meistens billiger und führt dann wieder bei mehr Fahrten zur Pro-Auto-Entscheidung.

Sind ja nicht alle, die kiffen, zwangsläufig regelmäßig auf ein Auto angewiesen. Verbot durch die Hintertür würde ich es also nicht unbedingt nennen. Wer weiß, vielleicht ist die Cannabis-Legalisierung in dieser Form am Ende der entscheidende Baustein für die Verkehrswende. Einerseits darf man nicht mehr fahren nach Konsum und andererseits wird man viel entspannter, wenn im ÖPNV mal wieder was nicht ganz so läuft, wie es soll. 😁

I also didn't watch this video here but saw videos earlier where livestock was fed with expired food that supermarkets weren't able to sell in time. All kinds of products like vegetables, bread, cake, yogurt etc. were delivered to the farmers directly or to intermediate companies. In many cases the food was still in its packaging, e.g. a plastic bag around a loaf of bread. But to keep costs low everything just went into a huge shredder and was then fed to the animals. Including lots of micro (and not so micro) plastics.

So the cost cutting is not about "explicitly feeding plastics as a cheap filler" but rather "accepting to have plastics in the food in favor of lower sorting costs".

In the documentary I watched this was described a common practice all over Europe.

Reminds me of the traffic situation in eastern Asia. Huge amounts of cars, scooters etc. mostly ignoring any traffic rules. From an outside perspective it looks like there must be thousands of injuries a day but considering the vast amount of individuals it's still pretty safe and efficient.

For me that behavior was expected. E.g. if I open a link from incognito in a new window, then it obviously should also use incognito but share its context with the previous sessions, otherwise it would require you to login over and over again. If an independently opened incognito window behaved different from a link-click window, I'd find it even more confusing.

As much as I'd appeciate a shift away from Reddit elsewhere, I have to admit that Reddit is often among my most helpful Google results. No matter how stupid the recent management decisions are, it grew to a massive knowledge database over the years. Banning it from search engines would have a negative impact on the overall internet experience.

From my perspective deep fakes will lead to a short but massive peak of harassment until everyone is aware of the technology and its capabilities. Once the technology reaches the mainstream and everyone is able to generate such content with ease, people will just stop caring. If these videos are everywhere, it's easy to play it off as a fake. It might even help victims of actual revenge porn. Virtual nudity will become less of a deal, probably even in real life.

From my perspective the bigger issue of deep fakes is news. We already have a huge issue with lies on social media and even TV and newspapers today and once we can no longer trust what we see it will be incredibly hard to build up trust for any sources.

Fake videos of politicians being spread to harm their credibility, fake videos of war crimes to justify an attack. Or vice versa if there's an authentic video of a crime the offenders will just deny the authenticity. But in contrast to Trump's "fake news" claims today, it will be more or less impossible for normal people to fake check anything.

The fish sturgeon is called "Stör" in German. The verb "to annoy" means "stören".

Most of these memes that were posted recently are puns where random German words that contain "stör" or a simmilar sounding syllable is replaced by the fish.

The training costs are not the craziest part of this claim from my perspective: The Skin and Cancer Institute was trying to make her repay US$38,000 in training costs and more than US$100,000 for “loss of business” caused by the company’s inability to transfer Ms Lakey’s responsibilities to someone new.

They we're probably paying a fraction of that as a salary and then want to hold the employee accountable that they can't find a replacement. Crazy world...
