making notes is usually the best. for some popular materials there are also usually study guides with questions to help you test your understanding. personally i just highlight interesting passages

undermines the anti-capitalist messaging a little bit when its on the front page of one of the richest people on the planet dont you think?

this is essentially the "if you dont like capitalism why do you exist in it" argument. i dont see the point in being a purist when it comes to communications, it would just be impossible to build a movement and grow. sure there are risks associated with it, but they are fairly low in the west.

i dont really understand how you propose promoting an org or doing mass communications. by that logic no org member should own a phone because it could be traced, or because its produced by capitalist businesses.

There isn’t really a good reason to spend resources on a platform that barely has any people on it.

My org has our website, flyers on a weekly basis and does stalls at bigger events AND posts about it on mainstream social media. I don’t see a problem with it

How the hell do you scientifically measure what is casual sex and what is not

Do you want me to pull usage statistics for mastodon vs mainstream social media?

[–] starkillerfish@lemmygrad.ml 10 points 1 month ago (12 children)

Nobody uses mastodon. Orgs use platforms where they can reach an audience

why they wouldn’t just send a faculty member or the Dean down to talk about their demands.

They don’t want to give any legitimacy to the protestors. And also, as someone who’s active in a university Palestine solidarity movement, I’m sure the group would be very interested in new members 👀
