There has been quite a surge of sports on the ‘net as of lately. I do wonder why that is?

So uhhh… if we all just don’t pay…. They can’t come after all of us, right?

Can someone please remind me how to open a Lemmy community in kbin? Maybe this is a bigger issue on mobile.

If I open a federated community I see this in kbin : https://imgur.com/a/oFQnMqj

And if I click the link to ‘Browse more on the original instance’ I’m brought to this screen : https://imgur.com/a/uNCvirP

And there is no option to subscribe without creating an account on that instance.

I think I might have read you need to search with a specific phrase but I can’t find where I saw that.

Alright you caught me in a good mood, so I’ll throw some articles out here to explain my line of thinking. I hope you’ll see I’m not arguing with strawmen.

Article from October of last year describing right wing outrage to drag shows.

Fast forward to recent months and it appears that words have turned to action, in the form of legislation

I believe some else mentioned the Paradox of Tolerance, but I will link it again just in case you missed it.

I hope this clears up my line of thinking. No invisible boogymen here - just some examples of,
In my opinion, things changing for the worst. And if you were not arguing in good faith… oh well.

I just took a peek at that user’s profile. Saw what magazines they moderate. Not surprised we have a different point of view.

The far-right brings messages of hate, violence, intolerance, and attempts to pass legislation to justify their views. The far-left has brought us the weekend, the 40 hour work week, child labor laws, etc…

I loved the time-travel level in Titan Fall 2. I don’t play a lot of games so it definitely felt very unique.

That’s what I’m saying! It ended well and never had a chance to get bad. “This is it. This is all we are.”

As long as you don’t forget about our 5% military discount. I need my Big Pink. It’s the only gum with the breath-freshening power of ham.

Could not tell you how many hours my brother and I spent taking turns playing Wacky Wheels

Ok so let’s start off by saying that I am not an expert in all things TV. I have no formal ‘critic’ training. But you know what? I know what I like. And I like the Knick.

For those who aren’t familiar with the show, it’s about a fictional hospital in NYC called The Knickerbocker, right at the turn of the 20th century. The show tackles various social issues, medical advancements, and inventions that are emerging.

I think the acting is very well done. I think the set designs and costumes are done accurately. Without spoiling anything, something I really like is that the background music doesn’t really fit the time period. It’s hard to explain but makes sense when you watch it. Lastly, the show ended after only two seasons so it never had a chance to become bad.

Anyways, just wanted to share! Thanks for reading, and if you haven’t seen the show I hope you give it a shot :)

Call me a bird, because I’m now migrating. Poor jokes aside, I’m hoping to ask a quick question. And I hope this is the place to do it. But since it’s a learning experience and I’m asking for help I won’t be offended if you tell me.

Anyways, I’ve been dabbling with kbin and Mastodon a bit. I thought I might like Mastodon since there is an iOS app. But I don’t quite like how it’s laid out. It seems like I need to follow people or things for them to show up for me. With Kbin it feels more like Reddit in the sense that there is an ‘all’ page comprised of many subsections to explore.

Am I correct in this assessment?
