And late-stage capitalism claims another victim.
I find 'walking shoes' to be decent for work, being fairly sneaker-like but typically in dark colours. If you want something a bit dressier, Rockports are a good choice.
Alternatively, you can get some dress boots. Check out the Thursday Boot company, as an example.
Let's be honest. The company won't admit to it, but of COURSE they are.
Remember, Facebool was founded on the premise of invading your privacy, and have gotten worse ever since. They're not suddenly going to stop fir any reason.
Yep, agreed. The biggest problem there is that Meta is generally not making life worse for its users than they're used to. Facebook and Instagram are giving you almost the same shitty experience you got a decade ago.
Nope.
If you encourage it, it will continue to fester and rot, and the entire internet will lower their expectations.
We need to destroy these companies. We need to smash them to pieces, and hey guess what - it's going to hurt a bit! We need to be prepared to stand up against evil, corrupt, racist, bigoted robber barons. We need to make some sacrifices to fix the internet.
Burn the fuckers to the ground, and let spez rot in a hole.
It's true that Qobuz pays more per stream, although I've heard that they pay an amalgamated sum to the label instead of direct payment by artist.
Furthermore, while MQA was a bit of a bait-and-switch (basically lossy versions of much higher quality), Tidal always offered pure lossless as well.
Qobuz apparently has a better classical catalog, but worse customer support.
Basically, I've found Tidal to be - at this point - a bit ahead of Qobuz. Not a real complaint, just a "if I had to choose..." opinion.
Short summary: Tidal is the best overall.
Balancing the content, quality, and amount paid to artists, I put it on top.
There's still one protest possible.
LEAVE REDDIT!!! GET THE FUCK OFF OF IT! LET IT DIE. MAKE IT DIE!
Same with twitter.
Fuck 'em. They are parasites on the artistic world.
Time for a lawsuit.
Since the presence of a TV in your house is a commercial benefit for the companies who make them, AND you do not actually have control over them, it is clear that the 'sales contract' was fraudulent and part of a bad-faith act on the manufacturers' part.
So I say a class-action lawsuit is in order: Each person who bought (say) an LG TV gets back 100% of their purchase price, plus some reimbursement for being spied on - probably a per-month amount. Then LG has to pay a punitive fee on top of their payouts to customers.
I know that everyone is screaming "that will never work!" and "They'll go bankrupt!" I don't care - SOMETHING has to change to remind these evil fuckers that they need our business, or the abuse will just ramp up.
Bankrupt them all. Tear down the entire industry. Tear down the entire economy and start again from scratch if that's what it takes.
If they can't be reined in legally, then it will happen illegally - and probably violently.
I guess I shouldn't be expected to pay for games until my total is over a hundred bucks then?
Hockey parents are the absolute worst.
You run into shitty parents in any sport, but hockey attracts the frustrated assholes living vicariously through their poor kids. How many stories per year do we see about brawls or assaults at kids' games? Too damned many.
Gymnastics isn't as violent, but the parents are almost as bad. Usually the actual abuse is directed at their own kids.
Most 'fringe' sports have a strong, supportive community. It's possible, but the culture of hockey is rooted in toxicity.
