well as i understand it, concentration camps are defined as places you concentrate "undesirables" to get them out of society while you figure out what to do with them long term.

like, definitionally, we're undeniably already there. the first nazi camps were supposed to be deportation camps too.

problem is no country will actually let you dump people on them like that. the only truly viable long term answer for this kind of plan is to kill them in the end. however, that's distasteful, so they usual end up staying there until they all starve because at least then no one had to give the order to kill.

three's a VAST range in there and fsu is not a good school.

the real point of college is even less about the paper and more about the networking. that's what you pay for at a good school.

it's cute and all, but the real reason they don't stop is because the authorities aren't enforcing that law effectively. the places where people stop crosswalks do so because they'll get a ticket if they don't.

this may raise awareness, but won't change behavior in the long run.

when i lived more in the city and didn't own a car i would make hard eye contact with drivers when crossing. my logic was that if they kill me I'll at least haunt their dreams with that look.

yeah, as an outside observer who only sees most sports through headlines and conversation i know three things about the sport. lionel messi, 7-1, and the world cup is horribly corrupt.

i did mean 11, My pc is plenty powerful it just doesn't happen to include a tpm chip. i have no issues with power. it handles 4k 120p 10 bit timelines fine. upgrading right now in this market would be asinine if software wasn't pushing me into 11.

man I'm facing either needing to get a new pc in THIS market to use 10, or find an entire new professional software workflow to do my job. professional video on Linux isn't real. hobbysist video sure, but pro video work with partners just isn't realistic on linux.

this is the first thing that's actually pushing me hard.

it's like when people say Australian beer sucks because of fosters, or that Japanese cooking sucks because the gas station sushi in your landlocked nation is shit. it's very disingenuous.

the other 50% is mostly water. anerican cheese is basically just a hardened cheese sauce. it's cheese emulsified with water or something similar to make it melt easier. it's not some unholy amalgamation of horror. it's just melty cheese.

and I'm not just looking that up on wikipedia. I've made it myself. it's not that hard. i promise you i didn't hide any cancer chemicals in there.

i mean with those games it feels like you get one every game third generation at this point.

elder scrolls 6 is going to become halflife 3 at this point.

hmm it's more like if the supermarket closed... you still need food (social interaction). so where do you get it now. like you ate out sometimes before, you let others cook for you every so often. but for many, discord is their primary means of keeping in touch. you need to find something to replace it. so we're all debating if we grow our own food or drive 4 hours to the next closest which already has going out of business signs up.

not wanting to use a platform that someone prefers is the easiest way to lose touch with someone these days. like i struggle to socialize with tiktok people these days just because i don't get their references and they can't send me their memes. if they're also an imessage diehard we probably just haven't talked in a while.

hmm idk, i only know like 2 people in my life that still use Facebook heavily. i know it's different in India though.

Facebook has seen stagnation or user drops in most mature markets, it's still growing in growing markets. India especially represents like half of all Facebook now.

no idea where you might be from, but this is not a globally universal issue. this will likely play out differently in different markets.

was dog sitting for my parents and just got a new lens for my camera. a leica elmarit-r 135 2.8 if you're curious. ruka is old and losing her sights and sounds. reminds me of how old I'm getting given that they didn't get her until just before i moved out.

she gets confused when I get on the floor but not to pet her. this lens needs her to be 1.5 meters aways to focus, so it took a minute to catch her settled in like this. but she's laying on her favorite bed waiting for her dad to get home and give her some of her favorite treats like he always does with dinner. instead tonight i gave her some treats for siting nice for me in this picture.

she's a real sweetheart. the only struggle was how much she still wanted to climb in my lap and get her belly rubbed like we used to. unfortunately she's to old and achey for that now. any time she tries she ends up hurting herself in the attempt.

time comes for us all, great and small. go love your pets and parents before it's too late.

one of the three cats I was watching at my friend's house while he and his partner were away last week.

rocky was hard to get a good shot of the whole time I was there. the largest of the three, he likes to keep the house in order.... from a distance. he wouldn't let me get close with the camera. always watching me, but from just around a corner like he is here. I think maybe the curtain helped him feel better about my camera trying to steal his soul.

a real sweetheart when he felt like it, but that camera really seemed to put him off. funny thing, despite being the largest, he had the softest/highest meow.

my parent's old dog ruka. she lost her eye as a very young puppy before we ever met her, but she gets on fine without it.

she can catch balls out of the air no problem, but cant find them 3 inches from her face once they hit the ground. never quite understood that. she's old and tired now, with achy joints and bad hearing. she didn't want to spend much time outside today with all this heat. i make sure to give her all the belly rubs she can handle every time I see her.

was house sitting for a friend and his 3 cats. he left a pair of his pants out for his old boy to nap on while he was away.

tragically I forgot to set my camera to silent shutter mode before taking this picture. in capturing this coziness I ruined it by startling him awake 😢.

Luka likes to bury her face into my hand sometimes. it's the best.

this feels like a meme format, but I don't know what it would say.

her name is alluka and you can see the royal quality of her countenance at first gaze. be grateful to witness her.

stopped by my favorite birding spot after work and had these fellas fly in over my head. guest appearance by a great blue heron.

shot on sony a7siii with a tamron 150-500. all handheld and after the sun was behind the mountains, so you'll have to excuse some shakiness and focus issues.

music: creep - original song by Radiohead - performed by scott bradlee's post modern jukebox.

shot on a7siii with a nikon Ai-s 28mm f/2.0

I'm sick as hell right now and this pulled up right outside my front door last night. stepped out to take a picture because nothing felt real for a moment. then i started coughing and kind of regretted it. worth it?
