Somebody has big weekend plans.
You can run it from an image without docker-compose but I'd recommend looking into docker-compose if you're not already familiar with it. @CannaVet@lemmy.world has the idea right that it's just a powerful installation file and can automate your docker management process rather well if you're using it a lot.
You can build a container from an image but it's obviously more hands-on. Lemmy may have additional dependencies they include in the compose file that may not be present in the image source. but starting with something like
$ docker run --pull=always --restart=unless-stopped -d -p 80:8080 -v YOUR/PATH/TO/DATA:/data --name lemmy_backend [LEMMYREPO]:latest
and configure that using proper configuration ( the links @Elbullazul@lem.elbullazul.com posted) - reference this for how to do that!
Be prepped for manual updates, though 😳
This is gonna be a disturbing workday in the best way
Awesome stuff! That Flux album is new to me, really gonna listen to it later based off the others on this list.
I didn't think about how sad it will be to lose askhistorians 😞
I hate to say it but shitposts and circlejerks are a bit part of my reddit browsing to lighten the mood.
Otherwise, trash like terriblefacebookmemes and idiotsincars was great entertainment for some reason...
I don't know why I am like this.
Edit: to extend on this, seeing a post about some crazy shit play out and then reading everyone react to it is so much fun.
Wsl is really a CLI based boot unless they significantly changed up WSL2
Adobe products keep me chained to Windows indefinitely :(
Thanks for posting and writing all this up. I'll take a good look at it if this is a Friday that work tickets decide to slow down.
I've been using this term a LOT since coming across that Medium article.
You usually see these on fields that are co-owned or need to be accessed by several municipalities. Everybody gets their own key but can still have access to the area whenever needed.
