I get what you mean. I am 100% behind any humans right to be whoever they want to identify as. I am also not naive to the fact that hormones do alter muscle density and development.

I am not an expert, but I do have critical thinking skills.

That being said, I feel like if a trans person wants to participate in sports with cis gender of the same sex, maybe they need to have their hormones monitored to be in line with the average of that gender for a decent period of time so they don’t have hormone based advantages?

If anyone has a better suggestion, please by all means, let me know. That idea is the best one I could personally come up with while defending the trans community from a co-worker that leans very far right and brings up pedos claiming being trans to go to opposite gender bathrooms and trans people having unfair advantage in sports after some body builder claimed to be trans and got world records even tho it was obvious that person was doing it specifically to get the unfair advantage…

What time period did you work for free while also working shitty jobs for rent?

Lots of people are working two full time jobs to barely survive...

I'm not saying you're wrong, but you have to look around and understand that a 1 bedroom apartment can easily be one full time jobs worth of salary to rent if you're a GenZ, then your second full time job is utilies and food... And depending on where they live, that's WITH a roommate.

Once you've worked 16 hours a day, plus commute time, unpaid lunches...you basically only have time to sleep.

Where in that schedule do you propose someone donate their time working for free?

Thank you for putting to words something that’s hard to explain. You’ve given me some talking points I can use towards a friend that tries not to act like he’s alt-right leaning but seems willing to listen.

I’ve never seen a player in person but I actually have around 20 of the cartridge style vinyl disks my dad gave me…

I would have to go look to see what all they are, but among them I have the entire original Star Wars trilogy… The CED releases were the only time the theatrical releases were available. By the time the VHS copies were released George Lucas had already altered them…

I was on Darktide, but, I was an Anti back in the early days and was never part of any RPK monarchies like Blood…

I was in Schattenkind -> Fists of Vengeance -> Samite -> Killer Whale -> Art of War… then went on hiatus and when I came back in like 2014 I joined Charlie Chans and I’m still hanging out with those guys

“over the past 60 years the West has begun to shift away from the culture of progress, and towards one of caution, worry and risk-aversion, with economic growth slowing over the same period. The frequency of terms related to progress, improvement and the future has dropped by about 25 per cent since the 1960s, while those related to threats, risks and worries have become several times more common.”

I mean, when people are struggling to survive it’s hard to let yourself get excited about technology that will likely only benefit the most wealthy. All of the “easy” discoveries have been made. Anything else getting research funding is to further capitalism.

I wasn’t going to respond to this thread again because honestly I was just trying to get people thinking about the little guys, but people are taking it to the extreme, so sure I’ll bite.

There was a period when I was younger where I was barely making minimum wage, was on food stamps and WIC for my wife and newborn. I was lucky that I got out of that situation, but not everyone gets lucky.

When I look at the direction the future is heading with self serve kiosks, self checkouts, automation systems everywhere you look… I can’t help but worry about the people that are being replaced for the sake of corporate profits.

If we had universal basic income, I would say bring all of that stuff on. Since we don’t, my sympathy lies with the workers, not the corporations.

Start making up job experience on your resume, then say it’s not OK to contact your previous employer.

It’s not using a “frickin laser beam” to blow up the world, but a lie to improve your chances of getting a job, justified in my opinion.

Even if you get caught for lying after the fact, now you DO have “previous job experience” that you would not like new employers to contact…
