I imagine mods don’t allow support for protests, even though I thought lemmy would be the ideal place to post about this.

I thought of making a topic about it but i fear i might just get banned, since my previous post against military wasn’t exactly well received.

I mod this community as well as the main Australia one and the Australian politics ones on here. There's nothing in the rules that say you can't promote protests here and so long as they are peaceful protests I don't really see a problem. Just so long as all discussion is civil and respectful.

At a concert in the Iwaki Auditorium in Southbank on 11 August, Gillham played a short piece written by Connor D’Netto called Witness, which is dedicated to journalists who have lost their lives in the Gaza conflict.

Introducing the work, the pianist addressed the audience, stating more than 100 Palestinian journalists had been killed, and that the targeting of journalists in a conflict was a war crime under international law.

I cannot tell from this that he made a political statement at all, sounds like he just stated some facts. It doesn't seem like he said the Israel were even targeting journalists (something which could be reasonably made out as a political statement since there is no concrete evidence to suggest either).

At least it wasn't one of those bombs

To be fair Linux is a much much better option for these old computers. You can also find some really good deals on FB Marketplace as well, there's usually some company getting rid of a tonne of optiplexes, usually with reasonable specs (Not a whole setup though)

That's interesting. I keep hearing "we need gas for the transition" but never understood, guess I was right and it was just gas companies lobbying the public.

It's really annoying that journalists don't do in-text referencing or even a bibliography. I had to do those in year 6, they need to do it now

Thanks for the post, in general when posting news articles please use the source title and put your personal commentary in the post body or a separate comment. I apologise for not putting this in the community sidebar yet but this is something we tend to do across the instance. It would be good if you could please change the title to the correct one:

In the negative gearing debate, wouldn't the real scandal be if changing it WASN'T examined?

Yeah. Here I am 26 days later effectively repeating the meme because I've started writing a project on Rust

Calling an election or referendum a waste of money is to be against democracy. Why do the media never challenge this

Followup on my previous post. Door behaved normally on an N*R for me the other day, maybe just something wrong with the one I was on. We no longer need to boycott QR

QR have gone woke (aussie.zone)

Idk they've made it such that when you press the button to open the door the door will not open unless you press the button again when the train is stopped. At least on the N*Rs. Probably a safety feature or something but I don't like it so it's woke.

There are two things in the world I can't stand: people who are intolerant of other people's cultures... and the Dutch.
