I thought it might have been something to do with the original image being a webp, but the one in the comment is also a webp... who knows

Interesting. Pictrs must be throwing a ranty again. My TPA (Boost) initially shows a thumbnail when you click on an image, then loads in a higher quality version later. The thumbnail doesn't load, but the normal one does
