It’s funny because I actually have memories of my parents bringing me to farms and places like that and feeling like I was going along with them to do chores and now I know they were doing it for me. They just also bought vegetables and stuff while we were there.

I used to say happy as very easy to achieve goal. It was kinda a joke. Turns out it’s actually really hard to grow up and be happy.

The little gate/ playpen thing we had actually helped my kid get around, he would pull up on it and move all around the living room. He loved it.

Hi friends. I drove an hour away to the childrens museum with my kid today. They had a band there playing drums and my kid got super over stimulated and wanted to go home. They recently made a sensory room there and I took him into that instead and it was like magic. He calmed down in about 10 minutes. I am sold. They should have these everywhere!!!

Anyways, still solo parenting and just happy I got us out to do something really fun and it went well :)

Hi friends. Today my child has been wild. He is not two yet but about to be. We have been hanging around some older kids and he has picked up some violent habits!!

The worst/ funniest part is when he was very upset that the dog was in my spot on the couch and he said he wanted to punch him, I said no.He said he wanted to whack him with a stick, I said no to that too and he said to whack him with the projector, then the robot vacuum.

Needless to say him and the dog were separated and I hope he wakes up from this nap and doesn’t choose violence.

So I realized at some point after having my child that a lot of the gender neutral items are actually just more typically “boy” gendered things put on girls. I wanted to not go along with this. I put my baby boy in flowery onesies and was told “why is he wearing girls clothes?.” Like flowers are for girls?? Those beautiful things that just grow in the ground? What a weird society.

A girl in a dinosaur shirt, no one bats an eye. A boy in a sparkly unicorn shirt, people comment. I am not saying dinosaurs are for boys, I am saying unicorns are also for boys. Then also, sparkly unicorns are for all kids. I have become so anti today’s “gender neutral” because it just isn’t neutral.

Anyways, that backpack will be fun because your kid thinks it is fun. Maybe go get a second backpack for the weekends and make that backpack fun too by doing things together in it :)

Agree. The latest one was this cheap water table from amazon, it was like two feet tall and had like literally 50 little pieces. It is already broken and pieces lost. And I hate it. I hate the waste. I hate that it lasted like 10 days. I hate that I had to put it together. I hate that I had to recycle the box. I hate that I have to dry out the pieces. I hate that it was a waste of money. I hate that I have to send a photo of him playing with it all together and keep it around in case they come visit.

I should be super grateful and just happy but like just ask me what he wants and we can do one big gift. Egh.
