I wonder if some sort of "truth in labeling" law could curb what gets referred to as news? Like, say what you want, but unless you can prove it you're not allowed to call it news. Would that help to prevent the "they shouldn't have taken me seriously" defense?

Can you help me understand the concept of tort law? Class actions are tort law, right? So a tort is a kind of rule about a law that recognizes that a law shouldn't be interpreted to allow that, even if it wasn't specifically illegal to begin with? Or am I more confused than I thought?

But still! Cooperative engagement technology isn't new, so it would be very cool to see it make its way to drones and gun fire control systems.

Such a low bar, right?

I meant for the designation aspect. Is it a laser? Some other radiation? Power output is going to be a concern, especially with the other draws on a drone's battery. Or even relating positional data to the tanks. It's a lot of data jumping around.

Duuuude, I hate that shit. If I need you, don't worry, I know how to find you. I wasn't just sitting here hoping somebody would offer to cut my grass, I was fucking sleeping!

I've always wondered about the legality of no solicitation signs.

Is there anything you feel strongly enough about to protest like that?

In trying to look at it from the perspective of "what could make me do that" I can only think of some downright heinous shit. To get to the point that you're willing to stand in front of cars and have people hate you for preventing them from living their lives? It's pretty hard to imagine.

And on top of that, to know that your actions are going to ruin you in some way or another; that you're facing jail time, bodily harm, or extreme financial burden? Either they're being both sensitive and stupid or they're so fed up that they feel like there's no other recourse. It's insane to me to think about being pushed so far that that seems like a good idea.

But then I think about how they must have gotten there, and the things that would get me there, and they're not so different.

Not even the inverse, yeah? We have drones that designate targets already. I imagine they'd be power hogs and you'd have some inverse square shenanigans with effectiveness, but I don't know what sorts of AT weapons they have or their capabilities. Unless Battlefield 4 was accurate, lol

I think it's a huge part of the Democrats' collective messaging, which they really sucked at previously. They're very purposely ratcheting up from their Ben Stein levels of excitement, and I think it's resonating with people.

5 AM is too early! Why did they need to knock on your door?

I've been using "ew" or "stop" with my friends and it cracks me up every time.

Serious answer: it's a "smart" urinal, in that it can report usage statistics, alert maintenance staff to problems, and be remotely controlled.

If you're in the facilities maintenance business, Bluetooth-enabled equipment can be a good way to get an operational technology network up and running without a lot of costly retrofit.
