Think about it, without the kids having a way to fact check everything they would have to believe whatever they say, and that leads to my favourite problem solving method, propaganda!

Now just finish off iMessage and we're done (I'm talking about categorising it as a gatekeeper, since what I've recently noticed is the amount of people who are close to me (classmates, old friends) that switched to apple is growing rapidly, and I'm now waiting for a day someone will be confused as to why I can't use iMessage (mark my words at least here in Czechia iPhone users are going to be a problem, I hope that the situation doesn't end up like in the US)

I've recently joined Tumblr, and like this has been the best social media I've ever joined, just what I asked to be shown, no annoying recommendations that are the complete opposite of what i like or it's just plain ragebait

The amount of actually nice posts is really cool

And from what I've heard their data collection is decent, not a personal data vacuum like other sites

Honestly the Murder Drones "Worker Drone" is an awesome base design (the disassembly drone just looks like an emo version of the base design), if I ever wanted to be a robot I would be that, too bad they (canonically) run on core 2 quads(or maybe even core 2 duos), which I had the experience to deal with irl and even on Linux they're painfully slow

Well I thought about using them instead of buying a hdd, I looked for some comparisons and found a 50 pack of 25gb blu ray drives and a 2tb harddrive for 60, it can store 35 movies more (thinking the movie is 24 GB) than the pack of drives, and that isn't accounting the disk drive to read the disks (Keep in mind these are just the first results on Google for me)

In my opinion the blu ray drives are more fun to use than clicking a file on a computer, but the storage payoff is huge

What is your opinion on this?

PS: I'm definitely buying the hdd instead

Too bad when more and more people buy Apple phones for some reason, well at least where I live (which is the poorer part of central Europe), I have no idea how people can spend this kind of money for a 4 or 5 year phone, when you can buy something more capable for the same money and you will actually know it will get supported with updates for more than 2 years

Can't wait for this to be more widespread in the future to the point iMessage will be the messaging standard

Can't say much for the conservatives in the US part, but from what I've seen they're pretty bsd

Yeah but if you live in places as Eastern Europe there aren't a lot of "yay LGBT" people (yeah sorry for me saying it that way, couldn't think of any other way to describe it), especially in the more remote parts (like for example, Prague is like an American city in this regard, a ton of support and stuff, and when I compare it to the middle of nowhere I live in it's the complete opposite)

I at least get the luxury that they don't get the "uwu Linux turned me into a femboy" post on their tiktok fyp (ofc they have that app installed so they can get their daily dose of homophobic bs)

To note these aren't my friends but classmates, we had an event a few days ago about learning how to stand up for our opinions and the first thing they pulled out is about this, ofc 95% of all guys in the class went to the "ban and execute" group, they lost their argument since their only opinion was "well it's not natural", I hate how they just dragged this for the rest of the event (the next task was to come up with a list of the most common positive opinions of society, ofc since they are the majority of out class the result was "banning LGBTQ", and not to mention they dragged it for next three days after the event too

TL;DR

It just depends on where you live, and what the common opinions there are

I live in the middle of nowhere in Europe and all is true except the outside picture and the fact that there isn't anything to walk to (except if you want to take a 20km hike trough a forest to get to the city, and then do another 20km back)

There's this dude on YouTube called oats Jenkins and makes better versions of things, he made a "traffic 2" video and in it he said something along the lines of "oh and you will need a permission ticket for a pickup added to your driving licence if you want one, so that only people who need a pickup truck can have one"

This is absolutely genius in my opinion, and I saw these big ass pickups spreading into europe, and like where I live (pretty small far away town of which there's a ton of in Europe) they would take up somewhere to 3/4 to the full damn road (I saw someone drive one and it really went like that those things are as big as a bus)

This is literally the first time I have ever seen someone say "mustn't" on the internet

[-] ziixe@lemmy.dbzer0.com 16 points 6 months ago

That is only maintained due to the new operating system being a new shell placed on top of the countless older shells and some new small features that rely on the newest most fragile thing they added with the shell

I heard some call it the "painting over rust" method, and they're maintaining the most used and by some organisations the most relied on operating system in the world

[-] ziixe@lemmy.dbzer0.com 13 points 6 months ago

Except not since you would have to replicate your current life to the smallest thing imaginable, and if you didn't it would cause a butterfly effect meaning you probably wouldn't get this opportunity anymore

[-] ziixe@lemmy.dbzer0.com 16 points 7 months ago

Yeah, and you don't even have to use any software, you can just store it in a folder no one would care about, best hidden with a name resembling something boring no one would surely open
