Holiday sales are imminent. This is your opportunity to share how you manage your game wishlist. The wishlist could be on Steam, IsThereAnyDeal, Google Play, your brain, anywhere.

Some questions to prompt you:

  • How long is it?
  • What makes you wishlist something?
  • What makes you remove something?
  • How do you choose what do buy and when?
  • What wishlist game are you most anticipating getting?
  • Any interesting stories of how a game ended up on your list?

After 5 years of owning a PS5, mine is off to a new home after gathering dust on a shelf for a year. I have had PlayStation's since the PS2 era, and this is the first generation where it felt like a dead experience on PlayStation.

Playstation used to have great single player games and I still played those, but those games were all from the PS4 era. Instead Sony tried to do live service garbage and it was a disaster. Honestly if the PS5 did not have backward comparability to PS4, I don't think I would have played anything notable on it. Add on that I have to pay a subscription for online play and it just feels like a waste of money to have a PS5.

I bought a used PC for under $200 and installed Bazzite on it. This little thing has crushed the PS5 for me. Huge catalogue of games and free multiplayer. Add emulation on top of that and my PlayStation could not compete.

Feels like the end of an era. Consoles are dead and PC's and Linux gaming is the future.

I would presume not, but couldn't find direct mentions.
Also, I like to play by my own or at most with friends ~~at slap's reach~~ at arm's reach, so I see no relevance for anti-cheats in my use-case. Plus, I see anti-cheat as DRM with more steps, and I care not for achievements for HL (if it even has any).
And so, I would like to know: should I be concerned about VAC if running the Steam version of HL through either/both?

Thanks in advance!

That person created NFC tags that can be scanned to automatically start a game when the tag is scanned.

The tag is added to a physical small box, cartridge-sized

Regarding ownership of the games files, they made a point about it at some point in the video, saying that they now only buy games from GoG to be able to just store the .exe files, DRM-free.

So I have hundreds or maybe even thousands of screenshots and video clips of gaming on my hard drive that I have never shared before.

Now I'm thinking of sharing them online so others can enjoy them or at least have something to discuss. I don't care about getting upvotes or fame.

For popular game titles, it's obvious to post in their respective communities.

But where should I post content from indie games? Should I use a general gaming community, or create a community for that indie game? But then I don’t want to be a moderator of communities, even if there’s basically no traffic and therefore no heavy moderation duty.

Or should I post my gaming content on Mastodon since there are no communities, so I don't need to think about where to post?

And what should I do with those in-game clips? Is PeerTube a better platform since it's designed for videos? Which instance should I use?

Thanks for any insights.
