I add anything that catches my eye onto my Steam or DekuDeals wishlist. Then when a sale comes around, I look at what's on sale, say to myself, "Am I actually gonna play any of these any time soon?" and never end up buying anything.

My wishlist is like a vague bookmark folder so I’m terrified to share it lmao it’s like 100+ entries of varying quality.
Same but 277 here lol
Most of what's left on my wishlist are games that haven't released yet, and a couple of games I can't afford lol. It's a total of 13 games currently. It used to be longer, but my boyfriend ends up getting stuff for me from my wishlist a lot, so it has shrunk down a lot
My wishlist practices aren't the most interesting tho, it's either the former 2 categories, something that im currently researching, or something I put on there just cause my bf asked me to put some games I like on there so he can get me stuff x3
+/- 100 entries with games I saw in one of the previews in the store, discovery queue or that were recommended here in Lemmy and looked interesting. Nearly all games I buy have to spend some time on the list.
Sometimes I have to remove an entry since my desire to play has faded for whatever reason but most of the time I wait until the next sale and buy from my wishlist until I reached my money limit for this sale.
Currently I'm waiting for a good deal on FF tactics and the release of Besmirch (人 •͈ᴗ•͈)
I also encourage friends to use it since I get game keys from time to time and Steam shows me which of my friends wishlisted this game, when I look it up.
Just want the new Digimon game. Gonna wait till it goes on sale or drops in price tho.
Any game I see that interests me goes on the wishlist. Then I buy things from the wishlist when they are on sale.
- Long.
- A game I would like to play, but don't know when.
- If that interest has died over time.
- Rarely buy something. Only if I intend to play it immediately.
- None at the moment, busy with Cyberpunk.
- Nope
- Long
- My only criteria is "oh this looks kinda interesting". Or often "this could be decent on a deep sale". My memory is getting shot with age and lack of sleep so I just keep it as a bookmark folder kind of, and an easy way to check for sales.
- If something has been for sale multiple times at 80% off or more and I still haven't pulled the trigger I sometimes re-evaluate their position on the list. But that's pretty much it. I keep it as a bookmark memory aid.
- There are two games I've been super excited for for a long time but still haven't seen a deep sale for: Withering Rooms and Chrono Ark. Can't wait to finally play those two.
My wishlist is mostly games that looked fun enough I might pick them up on sale, with a couple earnest entries thrown in that I usually buy pretty quick after adding
- 270 items
- I use gg.deals since they also filter for official stores, since I love indie games and I'm not buying those on keyshops. I use Isthereanydeals to check out bundles
- i remove stuff it the votes average goes down or I realize it's was not a good fit for my taste. Also if I realize the game has Denuvo.
- when stuff is discounted and goes below 10 € I usually buy it, or if the price is higher but the discount is above 50%. Usually I wait a lot more for games in the 20/30 range and I almost never buy stuff above 30
Games I'm waiting for, ignoring stuff not out yet.
Big ones:
- kingdom come 2 (loved the first)
- Indiana Jones the great circle (I loved uncharted 4, wish they'd publish the others on pc)
- stalker 2
- doom dark ages
Indie games:
- animal well
- citizen sleeper 2
- the drifter
- sorry we're closed
- eclipsium
I also use the follow function for games not out yet, or a bit different from the stuff I usually buy. I wish the follow page was a bit more "curated", it does not even have a search function, come on Gabe...
