Hi everyone! Thought I'd chime in again with In Flames, one of my all-time favourite bands!

What's your favourite In Flames album?

Do you have any album that you have particularly been enjoying recently?

Anacrusis - Screams and Whispers

Blast from the past by this vastly underrated band. Delicate and sturdy progressive thrash metal, if that is a suitable description to you.

There are several great songs on this album, but 'Grateful' quite sums it up.

I adore this album. It's oddly calming but admittedly it's very grim

Undertow - These Boots are made for Stalking

These guys evolved from being hardly
distinguishable Crowbar sound-a-likes. Nowadays they deliver a fine blend of sludge, groove, hardcore and melody with good lyrics.

Ultio Baphometis, our compilation album of UK based metal/alt bands with gender non-conforming members, is now live. 100% of all profits go to TransActual, a UK trans-led charity combating lawfare and billionaire funded hate and is released at 'name your price' model.

It's out on Mirlo (a workers collective organised alternative to Bandcamp), who generously allow us to waive processing fees to get more money to TransActual. Please give what you can but be aware that some ad-blockers can affect payment processors.

I like this album more than the previous one, but the guitarwork is very reminiscent of Massacre and less something of their own.

Melvins & Napalm Death - Tossing Coins into the Fountain of Fuck

Slightly bizarre, however good.

The Norwegian band, not to be confused with the Swedish one.

Obscura - A Sonication

The newest album of this exceptional Progressive Death Metal band/project recurs to more compact songs than on the former records. Also the overall approach is more melodic.

However with “Sun Eater” you can also find brutally. But IMO it feels a bit out of place on this album.

All songs are great and it is hard to pick a favourite. But I choose “Stardust” https://tidal.com/track/396369829/u

Panzerfaust - The Suns of Perdition Chapter IV

A very dense recording which sparks apocalyptic feelings in me. I first learned about the band when they supported Kanonenfieber, so I’m rather late to the party.

The music is some kind of Black Metal, but not industry standard. To me it feels more like Hell Ambient. I very much dig the arrangement with the two singers, one gnarling, one growling.

Some re-releases add the track ‘Missing Time’, which is very noodly.

If any of yall know what the hell is depicted on the cover art, let me know.

Probably one of the worst CoF albums but I still hold on to this song. Apart from the kinda cringe-worthy poem spoken in the beginning, this is an instrumental of decent length and quality, a real standout from the rest of the "melodic black" and gothic metal from the rest of the LP.
