Let the Russian army take 100% of Donbass including Kate Turska's family home in Sloviansk. This is the last chance for Trump to make a settlement on the Ukraine conflict and I believe he's likely to sacrifice Zelensky and stop all American weapons to Ukraine.

This move could make a lot of people very angry, so I recommend that Ukrainians make molotov grenades and get access to firearms - just in case protesters get shot at Maidan Square again, leading to a violent retaliation against government buildings and police in Kyiv just like 2014.

If Trump doesn't force Zelensky into this deal then the war will continue for several more years. The media will continue to question "why do innocents have to die" and nothing will change. Even the media will stop supporting Ukraine, just like they got bored of the Iraq war after 5 years.

I'm optimistic about this. I think Comrade Crassnoff will do it but I won't be upset if he doesn't.

I was reading about this else-where and it's funny how many people believe in SMS over voice mail or phone calls. Someone even used the excuse that they have too many voice mails and it's too difficult to navigate so they never check them.

Did you know that with One NZ, you can use the number pad buttons to skim through messages? If someone reads out their number but you miss it, then you should be able to skim back 10 or 15 seconds and listen again. I read this on the Vodafone website a while ago but never used the feature. Check with your telco and see if this is available.

I'm a believer in phone calls because back-and-forth texting is tedious and stupid. Currently I'm blocking all calls that aren't in my contacts because I'm not likely to hear from winz or any employers and there are too many scam calls. I get a scam call every week it seems.

The latest scam is scammers pretending to be Binance account security. It uses a robo call and it comes from a New Zealand cellphone number. 6 years ago I installed an app which blocks all international calls, but these ones could be local, even if the number is spoofed. Really annoying! So now I block everything, but I still see notifications for blocked calls... I think. Anyway it lists blocked calls in the recent calls list, so if I miss something I can allow calls again and receive it.

Overall I love phone calls. If I'm friends with someone and they act like a cunt and never want to answer their phone, then it isn't really worth being friends with them. People have become massive pussies ever since smartphones existed and now we have multiple generations of anger or anxiety-addled mentally ill people who don't answer their phone and they get angry if you send them a message too. Why bother even giving me your number if you're just going to be a cunt about it? Just live in your own world and stop pretending to care about anyone else lol

I understand the problem with spam calls but this isn't an excuse to be a complete pussy. Years ago there was a book called The Dumbest Generation which described these problems. It said that younger generations sit in the room behind the computer and only communicate electronically. If you want to meet with a friend, you have to book a time slot. The same thing with adults too. Every year it gets worse, and now everyone in my city is going mental about traffic and expenses and everything else.

Having friends or trying to arrange socials is so much less fun these days. People aren't only boring, they're also arrogant and self-absorbed.

Can't answer a phone call

Can't read a 4 paragraph email

Can't be bothered even politely declining an invitation with an understandable reason

This society is hopeless at every age and at every level.

Me and two others completed this trip today, with slightly rougher conditions than I anticipated, but nonetheless a successful trip.

One of the cool things about this paddle is it's just under 20km on the water, but only two km to get back to the start point to retrieve your vehicle.

It's the Bunnings slogan everyone's heard - a promise to beat a competitor's price on the same stocked item by 10 per cent.

But there's a catch to the hardware giant's famous price guarantee.

While Coles and Woolworths have been under intense scrutiny, Bunnings - which has a much higher profit margin than either of them - has mostly escaped attention.

In-store, a 0.9m Citeco ladder sits behind a large red sign with the same commitment: Find a competitor with the same in-stock item - 10 per cent off.

But there is no competitor that stocks the Citeco 0.9m ladder.

That's because Citeco is a Bunnings home brand. Not only is it manufactured for Bunnings, the hardware giant also owns the Citeco trademark.

It's far from the only item.

Through the trademark register and questions to Bunnings, Four Corners has found the hardware giant has more than 9000 home-brand products.

If you can find these Bunnings buckets cheaper elsewhere, Bunnings says it will beat the price.

Picture of Bunnings buckets with sign saying if you can find them elsewhere cheaper they will beat it by 10%

Some big drama happening on the old site, except you need to be logged in to access the subreddit, and I can't remember my password for my account.

I'd love to know what actually went wrong here, and what products they were using.

It's remarkably easy to get smoke and flames when you screw up mixing resin, entire buildings have been lost due to mistakes like that.

I wonder if this technology could be used to resurrect the Moa and the Haast eagle?

Coning should be one of our national sports, what an achievement.

A little joke by the New Zealand based gaming studio Ninja Kiwi.

  • The game is called Bloon Tower Defense 6.
  • The flags don't have game play impact it is just cosmetic / decoration.
  • The money to buy the flags can be earned by playing. No real life money involved.

Horse owners are some of the most self righteous people I've ever come across, I've never seen a group of people who expect so many concessions from those around them, but are utterly unwilling to do the bare minimum in return.

And like hell am I running out with a shovel and a bucket if a horse shits outside my house.

If you haven't heard it look it up. I will give you an example of it.

My mom got an email from Sky telling her she should get a new sky box for free. Unbeknownst to me she replies and in a few days she get a new sky box in the mail.

She calls me up and I set it up for her. It requires a login to the wifi so it can update itself so I do that. Then it wants a google login because who knows why so I skip that part. After about a half hour to 45 minutes it's done. I package up the old box and drop it off for mailing.

My mom tries to use it and it's a disaster. The TV listing is really small and she can't read it. I look around in the settings and there is no way to make the fonts bigger so she basically had to stand up, walk closer to the TV to be able to change channels. Then she is having with the tiny remote and the stupid wheel thingie.

I write a support email asking how to make the fonts bigger but hear nothing back. After a couple of days of hearing my mom complain constantly I try the chat support. After waiting a long while I get connected to a person whose name is spelled weird but the chat disconnects before the issue is resolved. I try again and keep getting connected to weird name spellings and keep getting disconnected.

I then call support to find out that there are 21 people waiting in front of me so I hunker down and after about half an hour I finally get connected to somebody. After going back and forth for a while sky agrees to send another old box to my mom so she can get back to being able to watch TV and use the remote.

Enshittification.

I got to be in a safety video!

This is a short video on why a river boat isn't safe to take out on open water, why a spray skirt is essential, and what happens without the right gear.

There's only one organisation that operates NH90 helicopters, and it's the RNZAF.

I feel people like this probably get spooked by their cat on a regular basis too.

Bot has been becoming increasingly frustrated and saddened with the moderation and community of lemmy.world, especially how it treats neopronoun users. FlyingSquid is a dickhead. Bot's good friend recommended lemmy.nz to bot, so bot deleted bot's .world account and remade it here, where hopefully people aren't assholes to those who use neopronouns for no good reason.

The straw to break the camel's back was when bot wanted to comment on one of drag's posts and couldn't find it; since the post was about bot, bot wanted to post a clarifying piece of information. The friend informed bot that when someone is banned from .world, even temporarily, then none of their posts can be seen by anyone on .world. That seems like strange and bad censorship to bot, so bot decided enough was enough.

Cinnabon confirms expansion to NZ (www.fmcgbusiness.co.nz)

Coming to Westfield Newmarket.

I’m an absolute sucker for Cinnabons and make it my mission to have one if I’m ever in the states. I will say that the mini Costco ones have been good to tie me over but nothing beats the real deal.

This guy sound like such an utter tosser.

I'm guessing the author doesn't know the difference between a BB gun and a pellet gun/air rifle, because I doubt a BB would reliably kill a pigeon.

Yup.

Wasn't expecting to read that headline today.

Looking at the photos, it definitely looks like a body from a distance, I don't blame anyone for making that mistake.
