Do Orbit chewing gums fall apart in your mouth when you stop chewing them? (self.asklemmy)

For some reason this happens to me, but only with Orbit. At least the watermelon ones (I prefer chewing gums that leave minimum taste), I don't know about others. It just turns into a disgusting paste.

I'm not familiar with that precise brand. But I've had that happen with old stock.

Also my understanding is most gum is designed to last roughly 20mins before you need another piece. (Doesn't stop me from chewing it for potentially hours)

Yep, doesn't happen with any specific brand. If this happens then it means the gum is old.
