@makotech222@hexbear.net made a really good thread to help people deal with windows 11. I learned from it.

A bunch of people started posting about Linux in that thread.

Sometimes a good judge of if there’s enough interest to have a community is if people are talking about it in threads where it’s off topic.

Would it help to have a Linux comm?

It was not really off topic, to be clear, seeing as mako presented it specifically as "you don't need to install linux you can just remove the bad parts of windows". c/libre and c/technology both are perfectly acceptable places to post about linux (see the sidebar in c/technology), and I don't think we should quarantine linux talk to just c/libre or a new c/linux.

Some people are just terminally windows brained and refuse to even consider other options. I had someone on here awhile ago tell me saying people shouldn't use Windows was victim blaming.

my hot take is that windows ppl are like non-vegans: Keep it to yourself and we wont have a problem,but if you start doing anti-FOSS propaganda people are going to be all over that and you shouldn't be surprised
