In one of Parenti's talks he refered to his son (who was still a babe at the time) as a "Red Diaper Baby". I thought it was amusing. Just trying it out.

Anyway folks, how's the fam? How are you?

Yeah, we got Oh, Crap! on the recommendation of some other leftist people in our Covid Baby cohort and it's been stressful but mostly manageable. Got a little potty for the room, big potty adapter on the way. The hard part is really just keeping it up with half the week in daycare; they're supportive, but it's hard to beat dedicated home time for building the habit and we obviously can't send the kid to school without pants.

I think the biggest surprise was how much language development exploded at the same time. Way more phrases, practically conversational. I dunno if it's just two things that happen to line up, or if the additional self-awareness of controlling your bathroom time does something to your brain. It's been really great aside from the occasional floor shit. 🤣
