Go ahead and shadowdrop this you COWARDS.

Map and stat screens down the right side of the gameplay window. Thumbstick inputs for the touchscreen gimmick stuff in Dawn of Sorrow.

There's almost nothing in this that you can't get out of just plugging these roms into MelonDS. Hell, the Definitive Edition patch for Dawn of Sorrow is better, removing the touchscreen elements and anime portraits.

Another Konami L, smh.

John from DF is very anal about that though

[-] ashinadash@hexbear.net 3 points 3 months ago

Nah he's fuckin' not, he gave the Castlevania Requiem on PS4 a positive review despite it being an utter botch job.

That port has an integer scaling option though

? That's the PSP game run through the PS4's internal emulator, none of the settings scale quite right because it's a pair of 256×224 games running in a 480×272 viewport, the Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles on PSP itself has no integer scale to begin with.

Pretty sure they run at native res with 4x upscaling, but I'm often wrong

This MLIG video at 29:20, interpolation on all video modes lel. They did not even try, it's also a mess in many other ways which is sad.

[-] ShinkanTrain@lemmy.ml 4 points 3 months ago

Forget the interpolation, the "scanline" filter not matching the actual pixels is the greatest sin what the fuck

[-] ashinadash@hexbear.net 3 points 3 months ago

Yeah it's a butchery, ideally they would have used the PSP source code to port it to PS4 natively but effort lol. Criminal shit.
