Hope you dont mind my random internet culture question...but whats the deal with the anti fapping guys? I dismissed the whole thing as meme and didn't pay much attention and missed something.
I thought prostate health and it's relation to regular ejaculations was common medical knowledge so I'm confused as hell.
It’s part of the decade long campaign to shift western culture into a more puritan and conservative one.
An effective way to groom men 18-35 is to slowly over the course of 6+months feed into their insecurities and then point out a common enemy as the source of their problems.
By feeding these insecurities consistently over a long period of time in subtle ways, the subconscious becomes more open to the normalization of these things until the individual believes they have come up with these beliefs on their own, based on what they’ve “saw” and “experienced”.
Common male insecurities are of a sexual nature. If you can guilt men for masturbating and convince them that they’re worse off for it, they’ll keep themselves in a self perpetuating sexual frustration state, which further primes them for other subtle changes to their psyche, as well as making them on average more irritable and angry.
Pair this with constant agitation propaganda personally curated and pushed into their social media feeds that they look at for roughly 2+ hours each day and you’ve got a good recipe for changing the political spectrum significantly for men 18-35.
The end goal is a radical change in governance from the flawed democracies we know to something more autocratic.
Bravo! Couldn't have said it better myself. Having been involved in bodybuilding and gym culture for 4 years now, there's a lot of overlap between that and Nofap and other manosphere/right-wing nonsense; online that is. I almost fell down this rabbit hole myself.
Same. I can explain it in depth because I too almost fell down this rabbit hole. 2015-2016 is when it got real bad and I started watching all sorts of sjw cringe compilations. As a barely adult I had no idea that all of this content was deliberately placed in front of me because I was the right target demographic.
What stopped me was when the rhetoric increased in severity and people started denying trans identity and claiming that these people should be locked up. At that same time I read a bunch of studies where they proved that neuron networks in trans people’s brains literally resembled the sex they felt they were. Science got me out of it and I quickly saw that this was just outright bullying/hatred and science denying.
They think not masturbating will give them anything from higher testosterone, better focus, or to a higher IQ.
They think masturbation makes you weaker in every way.
This is of course patently false, and all basically rises from an old athlete myth that sex during training will reduce your progress. Which these dorks then took to an extreme by saying any ejaculation will reduce progress in physical and mental training. Because we all know that the key to success is stored in the balls.
Oh wow.... that's way worse than I thought.
Yet another ridiculous antiscience crusade preying on people's insecurities and desire for easy answers and solutions.
And there's gotta be grifters pushing this bullshit and profiting off it via books, online classes or YouTube channels. There always are and they're always really fucking weird.
Anyway...Thanks for taking the time to explain! I really appreciate it!
I think it's also been hijacked by christian and muslim fundies in recent years. at least I've noticed a religious flavor to a lot of it and when you look at the profiles of people pushing it they're often active in those groups.
