If he was off by less than a second as to when VSC would actually end, he would have ended up above the minimum time before he could slow back down.

He guessed and was way off, you can sugar coat it any way you want about almost guessing correctly but he took an unnecessary risk.

We have seen countless sprinters jumping a start when they are held for longer than usual time and it was not because all those people crumbled under pressure.

I never said he crumbled, just cracked, if he keeps making these kinds of mistakes then he'll crumble. Sprinters that jump the gun do crack under the pressure. Max made a mistake because of the pressure.
