Not only that, their official app was a third party app that they bought and rebranded.

Yes. Many of them. I use Baconreader which predates the official Reddit App by like four years.

Out of curiosity, I went and looked it up. u/talklittle first posted about RIF in 2009. So yeah. Several!

Yep, they relied on these apps to help grow Reddit and now they're pulling the rug out from under them.

Worse. At least on iOS, the official app was purchased as a 3rd-party app. It used to be AlienBlue.

And I bet its API calls still look a whole hell of a lot like Apollo’s or RiF’s.
