Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

MODERATORS

Summary

Reddit’s r/medicine moderators deleted a thread where doctors and users harshly criticized murdered UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

Comments, including satirical rejections of insurance claims for gunshot wounds, targeted UHC’s reputation for denying care to boost profits.

Despite the removal, similar discussions continue, with medical professionals condemning UHC’s business practices under Thompson’s leadership, which a Senate report recently criticized for denying post-acute care.

Thompson, shot in what appears to be a targeted attack, led a company notorious for its high claim denial rates, fueling ongoing debates about corporate ethics in healthcare.

You think I supported any of that? What part of America’s democratic republic is a facade do you not understand? What part of America has always been teetering between right wing and outright fascist (save for a few years during WW2) do you not understand? Our history from our founding (ignoring native history that predates it) on is a story of insane religious Puritanism and persecution of anyone subversive of that (Salem witch trials is a great example starting pre US, but it goes all the way to satanic panic of the 1980s and todays christofascism), our land theft from natives and genocide of them, from the beginning to modern day (notably our attitudes of manifest destiny being really obvious even today), our enslavement of Africans and their descendants from the very beginning to present day in prisons thanks to the 13th amendment, I can go and on and on. We’ve been at war in some way shape or form for all of about 7 years out of our nearly 250? And that’s ignoring the colonial / native stuff prior.

We live under the dictatorship of capital and the USD is backed by oil. Notice who we regime change? Left wing leaders. Notice why? Oil and other natural resources for our multinationals to exploit. Who do we prop up? Fascists and right wing dictatorships. Try to sell oil in any other currency besides USD? We’ll bomb you. We regime change anyone who gets in the way of our corporate interests. The line must go up.

It’s obvious you’re not American and you’re wasting my time. You haven’t got a single fucking clue of what it’s like being an American so sit down and shut up. We have not been represented by our leaders since before I was alive and I’m 35. Our democracy is a complete and utter fucking sham, our politicians in both parties barring a teeny tiny inconsequential handful are all bought out by corporate America and it’s billionaire owners.

Go look up Henry Kissinger, Oliver north, citizens United, the patriot act, the 2000 election, Jack Welch the list goes on and on there’s so much evil to expose - you need to learn what the hell you’re talking about if you wanna play the non American enlightened centrist bullshit game with an American leftist.

Well then, how about doing the same with the rest of the world...its been my experience that Americans love dedicating the rules to everyone else, including invading them but are far too sensitive to see their own flaws and accept criciticism from other countries.... It's not surprising that lost senators don't even have a passport....

I don't have more to add to this discussion. Happy holidays and best of luck.

Again, you act like I want america being the worlds policeman. I fucking don’t. Learn to read and stop putting your nose in American affairs if you don’t have a single fucking clue about what life is like here.

I want an end to capitalism and imperialism, I want healthcare. I want the United States as we know it finished as a country. Fuck this country.
