Yeah and conspiracies are literally all pervasive at this point. I think covid isolation pushed ppl online a lot more and broke a whole lot of brains

Hadn’t thought about the pushing people online aspect, I think we’ve known for a while what the negative effects are but not until now has it become so pervasive we can see the effects en mass

Yeah I've seen at least two studies showing that no matter what stuff you're into online, the algo pushes you into the right-wing and into conspiracies, which both tend to overlap. I know FB and YT shifted their algos in 2019 (and obvs X later) after RWers threw a fit that they were "biased" against conservative hate-content. Now it's like no matter what I watch on YT I get anti trans and RW bullshit. I literally never click on them, yet they keep getting pushed
