People like this are always convinced that they'll be on the life rafts whenever the collapse happens and they'll get to live in their secure bunker with self sustaining star trek ecosystem 3d print replicators. IE: "some of you may die...but that is a sacrifice I am willing to make."
Yeah, they are unironic Hollywood Anarchists. They saw mad max and that’s their ideal society, they unironically want real life to be just like blideo game and if they have to do an evil playthrough? All the better! Villains are much more macho and badass than the do-gooder heroes anyway.

They are literally unable to envision a world where they are not the main character and therefore be killed "in the background". Why would they? They ascribe to the most individualistic ideology possible. They wholeheartedly believe their made up "rights" to access to treats, gadgets, toys, crypto, and a wholly unearned sense of smug superiority trumps other peoples' right to live in a habitable world.
