I became an adult in the 1980s and I remember learning about the right-wing and seeing shit like that and thinking "Holy fuck - the fundies are dangerous, deluded freaks!" And the average America had similar thoughts but probably much more polite thoughts. And now ~40 years it melts my brain that the fundies are far more powerful and far more dangerous than any time in my life time.
The article is nonsense of course - but this is good...
They've been spending the last 40 years clawing for power and sliding whoever they could into the seats of control
The libs basically ignored this
Sure. They made fun of them, but in the end that's all they're capable of
Laughing while the world burns down around them
I posted a Bluesky thing by Patton Oswalt who is really angry about Gaza. Angry as in - people didn't vote for Kamala because of Gaza. In the comments somebody linked to a Youtube vid of a vid he did when Obama was president. Not only was he clearly over the moon about Obama many of his jokes were sour and third-rate when he made bashed republican voters. He said the n-word too.
I'm no fan of republican voters but if in the future leftist candidates somehow make huge gains on a federal level and the GOP lost big plus I was a standup comic - I wouldn't bash GOP voters. I'm feeling grand, they lost, and politics isn't sports so why do it?

There still are judges (in the US) who won't allow women lawyers to wear pants in their courtroom . Obviously not a lot of them left but enough that dress skirts are a mandatory part of the wardrobe for female attorneys.
I had no idea. My god.
This makes me feel normal and not at all violent.
A former co-worker of mine was suspended from high school in the 1970s because she wore pants to school
