Most of the mainstream media is owned by a few rich fucks, corporations who strive to make money. Corporations love fascism because that gives them more power and less regulations, so ofc they do everything in their power to enable fascism.
The biggest lie I was told in school was that the market is thriving in competition, it doesn't. Corporations always want monopolies, so competitors are usurped and driven out by any means necessary.
The people win when there is competition. Corporations win when the people have no choice but to hand over their money.
It is not a lie. What school doesn't stress is that you have to defend the markets. Corporations want monopolies and citizens must prevent that by nurturing competitors.
What else? It's either competition in markets or cooperation. Do you think cooperation is easier? How would you implement a cooperating society?
The idea of a cooperative alone is not enough. Think reddit, people could move to lemmy, but they don't. How do you get a society of cooperatives going?
